  1. I use Organix grain free for my dog. If he eats grains he itches. I am going to try making organic grains for him and see how that goes. Also going to mix some organic hamburger and sweet potatoes and carrots. But, I will give the kibble with it mixed in. His kibble is not cheap, but he has done well on it

  2. All Rice has been known to contain arsenic. I would choose a different grain to feed my dog. My dog itches with grains, so I am going to research to find something that will work for him or supplements that are in rice.

  3. FDA came out and said this was inconclusive and has also linked NON-Grain free foods to it as well. So this is bad data and probably shouldn't be shared by an actual vet as its irrisponsible.

  4. I need you to know how much you have helped me with my dogs, your advise has literally saved my 11yr old Beagle. Your CHF and heart cough videos have saved him. He’s a different dog in just a couple of days. I want to change his food and this video is great. Thank you and I wish you the happiest day

  5. My now 83.3lbs 9 year old goldenddodle had his front paw amputated on May 28th about a week ago do to bone cancer (osteosarcoma) I switched his diet from kibble to Dr harveys paradigm food. How ever is costing me about $250 a month. I acording g to my math I have to buy about 25lbs of fresh meat (chicken,beef,turkey etc) to ad to Dr harveys food. This prescription kibble dog foods will be way cheaper but many people told me to stop giving kibble since it feeds cancer:(

  6. I make my dogs food, 3 40kg labs, all under 5,, they dol very well and I give them lots of potatoes with the skins on and a can of peas, mixed well with either ground chuck or chicken, sometimes substitute chicken or fish to there meals, on fixed income, dogs love it and are prime. labs.

  11. My shih tzu does not like beef. He is a chicken guy. I tried to feed him sometimes with beef but he refuses it. He has always been a picky eater and I have a really true hard time feeding him… I need to look for some other options. Thanks Doc.

  15. Hey Doc, cause of you, I switched from Hills to Nutro Ultra and my dog (Pit mixed) loves it. My girlfriend got a Maltese puppy and not sure which dog food to get. I didn’t see any vids on puppy food on your channel. You’re the best

  19. I am a new owner of a Maltese 7weeks. When I start feeding him can I start with home cook healthy fresh cook food homemade? I’m asking because of all the negative stuff out there in kibble abs my last dog use to be sick a lot. It would help if I can know these things before I start

  21. My dog has had several bouts of pancreatitis. The vet sells me Hills low fat. Is there something cheaper I can buy? I would do anything for my dogs. I have a dachshund almost 17 years old with heart disease and seizures. Her meds are quite expensive and now this. I am 74 and get just over $700 a month in my social security. I simply am struggling with the expensive food and medications, I would do anything for my dogs. My credit card is getting bigger and bigger and I am scrimping as much as I can. Is there any other low-fat food you could recommend? My dogs Vetmedin for her heart has gone from $86 to now $109. I am at a loss for what to do. Thank you.

  22. Thank you for giving us options that aren’t Hill’s Science Diet, Royal Canin, and Purina Pro Plan. I understand why vets like these options as they’re formulated for different pet stages. But they have corn and other fillers.

  27. My dog has oxilate and struvite bladder stones. I prefer to feed her meat and vegetables I eat. But the urinary food does keep her urine the right Ph but she doesn't like it much

  28. I wish I could afford to feed a raw diet. I have 2 large dogs and several small dogs. I live on social security. I feed Diamond Naturals Chicken and Brown Rice, no grain free food. It’s the best quality food I can afford for all of them. If the price of some of these foods wasn’t so exorbitant, I could afford something better, but an all natural, home made diet for them will never be in my budget.

  30. No fillers Especially Chick peas….. Inundated with
    "ROUND UP" IT'S POISON .. weed killer …used in so many pets foods!!! Also used in humans 2…🤮
    Check the ingredients on your pet care food…and your food….go organic as much as you can !

  32. I am feeding Wellness dry and making my other dog food which has brown rice, carrots, chicken, hearts and liver, spinach unsweetened apple sauce. Please tell me I am doing the right thing.

  34. I hope you can answer my question. I just received my Propolis throat spray for my dog. Shes very scared of the spray. Shes 12 lbs. Can I just give her some by a dropper and if so how much should I give her??? An answer will be greatly appreciated:)

  41. Growing up in the 80's and 90's we fed the family dogs (mostly German Shepherds) from the dinner table; they ate what we ate minus the deserts and they lived beyond their mid- teens. My first dog, with a family of my own, died just 2 months shy of his 4th b.d. With our two year old shepherd-border collie mix I've been feeling the need to make him healthy home made meals, and your video just confirmed the need to act on that hunch. When I announced it to my husband and kids there was a big "WHAT?!"… I told them, no more take out, we're eating what the dog eats. Thanks, doc, you're an inspiration.
