  1. Thank you Dr Jones for sharing that’s why i can’t and don’t know how to handle cats so touché to you. I’ve had many encounters with friends cats so before I or it kills me (haha) I wont own a cat. They are far too independents for my liking and character

  2. May i ask what Gussies immunization history was ? Im always amazed when i see cats the lived into their 20’s and i only got just under 13 with mine 😭 i always wonder if i did something wrong. I loved her so much. My 2nd cat is now 8 and i have not done any further immunization other than her kitten shots, im at a crossroad right now; should i be giving her the shots or not? The vet said its the law to do the rabies even though she is an indoor cat. Im in ontario – moving to nova scotia next month – she said if my cat bites anyone or we get pulled over along our travels that she can be quarantined for not having her shots to date?! Is this true? Love your channel, im binge watching all your videos today.

  3. What should I do? I have a 16 year old flame point siamese who is a DOLL. He purrs so much even when you just talk to him let alone pet him. He has arthritis which is regulated but not perfectly so he still steps in his poo/pee. I use world's best litter and change the 2 litter boxes 5-6 times a day yet it still seems to happen a few times a week (and he trails it all over the apartment). My (human) son always seems to find scattered pieces of poo and litter around the house and on his lego, and it's so hard to clean off his paw it's deep between my cat's "fingers" and under his extra thick nails. I can try and try to wrestle with my cat to try to wipe his paw but I can never get it all off so then it starts to cake on his paw and the vet said there's nothing I can do to get rid of it since he refuses to go in a bath. He also meows out of loneliness when he's in his room overnight (he has a much younger feline buddy but she doesn't play much at night with him). He has a heart of gold but is extremely needy, vocal (not a cute meow but an insufferable yowl), and tracks his poo. I feel like he has so much love to give, he would be perfect in your video. He's like a therapy cat. Whenever someone comes over he cheers them right up. Sits on their lap and you can literally do anything to him. He just drools and purrs. How can I use him for good since we're a busy family and can't give him the crazy attention he needs? I tried volunteering in a senior home but the seniors cried as they were overly emotional/nostalgic and some were scared of him (thought he was a dog). Sometimes I just want to give him away to someone who would appreciate him more (he has been passed down twice due to his neediness and vocal issues). We've had him for 8 years now, his past owner just left him outdoors covered in fleas so I "rescued" him. He's very needy, intelligent, vocal, affectionate. My current solution is to keep him in his room (he has his own room), and ban him from entering any bedroom, and when I let him out I have to be home and constantly pay attention to when he's going to the litter and rush over to make sure he doesn't step in it. He's out around 5 hours a day. In his cat room he has an open window with a view of trees and fresh breeze. But this is becoming such a hassle. Sometimes I feel like we're not a good fit either 🙁

  4. Haha. Complicated. Definitely.
What I've come to realize with my boys (I got a 2 rescues from same litter) is that it's all about free will. They're happy as can be until I take their decision making ability out if the equation. It has to be their choice.

  5. Since I am not a young woman I have lived awhile sadly, I have lost a few cats.
My Siamese Kichi Kiana is 10 years old. When I got her my ex friend came with me & she got her brother Sandro. My friend would bring Sando over & they played together even though Sandro played rough. Then stopped cold turkey & Kichi was getting depressed. Almost at the exact time our friendship ended I found a Siamese who looked just like Sandro. Well, they were awesome together she was in heaven. Then hurricane hit I was w/o power for 10 days. I stayed at a friend’s house went home daily for my cats & birds. The day my power was on I found my Mr Spock deceased.
This time Kichi was really depressed I didn’t know what to do & I found a male fixed rag doll Jun Jie 8 months old.
They were ok together for awhile then his personality change & became the boss. They would fight and he is a good cat but Kichi is set in her ways
She had always like to run outside when she can & she will come back in. For the past year when she does get out have a hard time getting her back. In the house she’s all over me outside she won’t come to me
Dunno how to handle all this

  6. I know showing dominance is more typically a dog behavior, but if Murray likes to lay on your stomach, could it be he feels more secure in his dominance over you? That he feels like he has more control over the situation? Maybe he has trust issues, and being vulnerable creates anxiety?

  7. If I have to give a pill to the cat I either take it apart if it's a capsule put it in a little water and use a syringe and if it is a tablet I crunch it to a little bitty bitty bitty pieces and then I give it to him that way by the end of my finger and just to get to the math real quick and I'm done as far as the way I pick up my cat I always pick up the cat and support their two front legs like I strain them I put my one hand holding the two front legs on a comfortable basis and then I make sure that I use the whole body and hold the whole body of the animal I hate seeing someone cradle an animal with their back feet hanging down where they hold remember the shoulders that is inappropriate

  8. Please do a video on Apoquel and its side effects. Vets are calling this a wounder drug and even putting pups om it ,though the manufacture warns its not safe for puppies.

  9. What are your suggestions for ringworm? I have a 5 month old who's been locked away for almost 3 months now. He seems to get better then worse. I am desperate and want to let him mingle with my other cats and ruin free. Please help.

  10. If Murray lived with me and my dogs, he would rule the house! He would be top "dog" lol and always get his way.
There are "pet psychics" out there who would love to help you with your relationship with Murray. 😉

  11. I've had a few cats over the years. But I always make sure that the cat chooses me. It's hard to explain. All of my cats would come by me and want to sit on my lap, snuggle on the bed etc etc. The cat that I have now, her name is Angel, likes to climb underneath the covers. She has her limits and I respect that. But she always comes back. 🐈😇💕

  12. I wish all vets were as understanding of cats as you are. Most vets I’ve had for my cats over the years have no empathy with cats nor even care to. Why would anyone be a vet if they can’t empathise with all animals???

  13. HAHAHAHA! I just got adopted by an old feral. He's stinky and beat up with scars and wounds, missing fur and a club end tail, but I just couldn't resist those big green eyes. He stays in my garage now for the winter, and goes out on nice days. I don't know how, but that old cat got me wrapped around his paw…RIP Gussie, I remember ♥

  14. I am not a cat lover, love dogs, they are 2 different animals
They scratch out for no reason, where as dogs just love
I still enjoyed your video, you are a great vet

  15. OMG Murray is SO cute…Dr. Jones you are awesome! I miss Louis SO much, aaand I think I need a cat! Oh btw I've been turning A TON of senior Poodle owner onto your site. You should get a ton more viewers!

  16. cats only want love when they are ready lol not when you want to love them lol , i had to bring my cat lucky to the vet today he had to have a tumour removed and they took out a few of his teeth also cause the tumour was wrapped about some of the teeth now he is resting ty for the video lol and you can always go see jackson galaxy lol the guy that plays on my cat form hell lol
