  1. Hash with a one or two star rating will have a lot of green or dark brown coloration from chlorophyll, and will mostly likely contain a significant amount of plant matter. The appearance is very similar to the kind of residue that builds up inside of a grinder when you put whole flower through it. The trichome content of this grade of hash is only about 50%.

Larger micron bags/screens will produce this quality of hash. It can be used for making edibles, topicals, or other infused products. It is considered “food grade hash” because it has little to no value as a smokable concentrate. If you intend to use the hash for food, it must be decarbed if you want it to have the expected effect of THC.

    Melt: 0-25%

    Dabable: No

Fully combusts when heated. Very harsh, earthy taste. Considered “food grade hash.”

Hash with a 3-4 star rating is also referred to as “half-melt,” because it is only partially vaporized when it is dabbed. When heated, bubbles form on the surface of the hash and then combust, leaving behind a residue from the small amounts of plant material and/or debris that are still present in the hash.

Half melt hash is commonly used as an input material for pressing rosin, but it can be sold wholesale and is often found in dispensaries as a retail product. It is primarily intended as a product that is smoked on its own or along with cannabis flower, not as a product for dabbing.

    Melt= 25-50%

    Dabable: No

Forms bubbles on the surface then combusts when heated. Earthy taste with hints of the taste profile from the source material. Considered “half melt hash”.

5-star hash is virtually free from all contamination; it is composed almost entirely of trichome heads and stalks. When it is dabbed, it will leave minimal or no residue behind; it simply melts into a small bubble, hence the moniker “full melt hash”. This product has a high potency and delicious flavor.

Typically, 5-star hash is collected from the 73um and 90um rated micron bags/screens. It has a very high wholesale market value, and the demand for the product justifies it.

    Melt: 90-100%

    Dabable: Yes

Bubbles into a very small puddle when heated. Strong presence of the taste profile of the original source material. Considered a “full melt hash”.

This is the crème de la crème of hash. The difference between a 5-star and 6-star rating can be difficult to distinguish, but the true mark of a 6-star hash is that there will be absolutely no residue left behind when it is vaporized. To make a 6-star hash, you have to have exceptional technique and the perfect biomass — you need the right cultivar, grown to perfection and harvested at the exact moment it needs to. Recognizing biomass that will produce a 6-star hash often comes only with experience, and even then you will not always achieve the results you desire. 6-star hash can be made with fresh frozen material or cured material, but either way the process must be performed flawlessly. Every step from start to finish matters when attempting to make a 6-star hash — achieving it is very rare.

    Melt: 100%

    Dabable: yes

Bubbles into nothing, and will melt through a screen; considered a “full melt hash”. Full taste of the original source material is present.

Can be further subdivided into Low, Mid, or High sub-grades

  2. Was wondering if you knew whatsup with the laws about delta 8/ hemp derived thc/hhc and stuff. I'm a manager of a smokeshop in colorado and was recently told delta 8 and any kind of infused or manipulated cannibinoids are illegal but I havent found much about it online.

Great vid as always, I'll be getting some fire rosin after work ✌️
