  1. Hi. Yesterday I began fostering a 1 yr old average sized female doberman.
She ran & played A LOT yesterday, & showed stiffness last night, limping this mornings & by late morning she's keeping her right back leg in the air. BUT NO ACUTE INJURY symptoms. I have no idea when she injured it. Previous foster says no limping.

When I saw the leg in air, I immediately brought her in & put her in the crate & gave her leftover Carprofen from her spay surgery. I have enough for 7 days.

  2. This is nice and informative. Unfortunately for one of my dogs I sincerely do not have the time for any of this or the funds for any treatment. She managed to somehow, and I've never seen anything remotely like it, tangle her rear leg in a tie out cable that was on the ground on a rather large acreage. She was in no way tied with that cable until she somehow got her back leg tangled. Then she somehow got the cable tangled in trees.. Then she shredded her ligament totally. I've never seen a dog managed to do anything like this. It's massively swollen, she's on3 legs though she cant really walk, she's laying under an RV on the property.

  3. I believe the braces work better for small dogs. The brace didn’t work for our 90 lbs dog and this leg has significantly more arthritis now because we waited to get tplo. His other leg we decided on tplo at the first sign of cruciate injury and that leg is much more stable. Sometimes the best thing you can do is get it repaired immediately.

  4. Would you recommend this brace for a 150lb mastiff? It is suspected he has a partial tear acl. Surgery is not an option for us at this time. We want to exhaust all non -surgical options first. Anyone experience this brace with this large of a dog before? I am not finding much info for these big guys and leg braces. Thank you in advance 🐾

  5. it's so nice to see a vet that actually knows what they're talking about. I feel everytime I see a vet in my town, no matter who, I'm always given incorrect advice or something huge is missed that I had already diagnosed at home and they say something like "we checked the mouth and it looked fine, there must be another reason for the excessive drooling, inability to chew hard food, 2 weeks later led to a cheek abscess because of abscessed teeth. or the most recent, being told to funnel white sugar into the back of a rescue cat armpit abscess instead of just using honey in a syringe. I was giving my 21yr old female daschund an exam and I noticed she has a hard lump between her butt and vagina. Is this normal or a sign of something else like a bladder stone?

  6. My 45 lb dog had a partial ACL tear which healed without surgery, we did acupuncture, anti inflammatory meds, ASSISI loop therapy, ice & restricted activity. I’m happy to say she completely healed & is back to running like nothing ever happened!

  7. Thank you for this info, v helpful and encouraging to read about how to help heal naturally as we are going through this at moment with our JJ, hes a Jack Russell. With gratitude 🙏

  9. My toy poodle she was 10 lbs injured her ACL .The vet never offered any treatment that I could have done at home and no brace .She had surgery to fix her ACL. Thank you for this information .I wish I had known that would have tried this before getting her surgery.❣️

  10. The title of the video says ACL, but dogs don't HAVE ACLs., they have CCLs instead – cranial cruciate ligaments. I wish you had published this 2 years ago when my dog tore hers. I give her 20MG CBD oil capsules twice a day. Wish she would exervise in the pool but she hates water; even baths stress her out.

When it happened, I bought your CCL video which recommended surgery , which we cannot afford. You really should remove it from your store as it contains no helpful information. I bought the first edition of Veterinary Secrets and am a VIP member.

  11. You are giving so much truth in a world with so much motivation by money and greed. Thank you for providing honest and real advice for everyone who cares about their pets. Our dog is doing so well wirh Posh braces, she is unstoppable and they have been a total game changer after years of trying everything else. Highly recommend a good custom fitted brace used with leash and controlled exercise, massage, raw diet, good supplements, CBD and golden turmeric paste. You are helping so many people with your videos. Cannot thank you enough.

  12. HI can you make a video talking about reasons why a dog can have one thigh bigger than the other? Recently I had 2 physicals one in January and another one recently the week of easter and my corgi mix was healthy but had some early signs of arthritis in spine. Then yesterday I noticed her right thigh was bigger than her left. Did my vet over look this? Dont you feel the entire body during a physical exam? She is not limping, but I wonder if maybe she had an injury in the past that caused her to put all her weight on her right side and now her left side has atrophy. I keep feeling for tumor but I cannot feel any lumps. Either there is a lump and I cant tell or its the entire muscle that is thicker. I emailed my vet about it and waiting for her response.

  13. My 12 yr. old dog just tore his ccl 5 weeks ago and I don’t think surgery is an option due to heart issues. He is 23 lbs and only takes leisurely leash walks prior to tearing his ccl. I have not been walking him since the tear occurred but he does have free roam of the house, no stairs. He is mostly resting but when he does move around I’ve noticed his leg is shaking quite a bit. He is on rimadyl and glycoflex. Is the shaking an indication of pain or just general instability? Is this normal with this type of injury?

  14. Hello 👋 thank you so much for this video I have a question what’s another alternative for Dasaquin for joints for dogs with kidney problems? It affects the kidneys I would love to hear better alternatives for joint help that doesn’t affect kidneys 🌈💙

  15. Give your pups room to think on their own. Dogs are BRILLIANT! They are smart, they have common sense, they know WAY more than we do. I see people who treat their dogs as if they are stupid. It's NOT the dogs with the problem, it's the owners who don't trust their dog's to do what's right. Praise. Positivity. Persistence.

  16. Our 60lb, 3 yo, pup had an ACL tear. In lieu of surgery we opted for laser treatment and acupuncture. It took 5 treatments of each, but she's okay now! She was amazing because she self-limited her movement and gave herself time to heal. We have 6 dogs and to watch what dogs are able to do on their own, when allowed, is incredible. EDIT: We give her curcumin (w/bioperine) daily, MSM, Vit C, Vit D3 w K2, and Dr Jones krill oil. We have also found hyaluronic acid to be an asset with most joint issues. Thanks to Dr Jones we are able to care for 6 wonderful dogs and have a little money left over for toys and healthy treats!!

  17. It happened to my precious, beloved Australian Shepherd, and with only one laser treatment she was healed. She never had a problem with her ACL again. I miss her so much! ❤😪🐕🐾

  18. thank you Dr Jones for your information my dog had a prolapse disk I found by doing a sling round his back legs really help him until his back healed was able to walk and run again he also was on steroids thanks again Dr Jones love and God's blessing you all ♥️♥️🐾🐾🐕

  19. Thank you. I have a younger Lab about 65lbs who has been struggling with this for several weeks. She’s very high strung & I can’t complete restrict her. My vet doesn’t like braces. I’m going to have to get a second opinion. She said surgery was undesirable but I’d probably have to resort to it. 😢
