  1. So you're shooting this video in the kitchen with pictures of a family all over it as if they were yours but there's no wedding ring on your fourth finger and you seem kind of young to have kids that age. In other words there appears to be false representation right away in your video. And who knows if you're a real vet you sound like kind of a goofball I wouldn't listen to anything you have to say. Although I like listening to comments from real cat owners. What cats need is protein that's how they eat in the wild they eat protein they love to eat birds they eat snakes and that's what you need to feed them. And then you take them outside and they like to chew on grass and some flowers they know enough to eat some of that for some Trace elements they need. That's all you need to do. Cook him some chicken and they're happy.

  2. The cat Murray I noticed also has separations all throughout his fur. My kitty Maymie had this first, then a few months later, Speckles has it too. They are also both on the UR food diet, wet & dry food. They also both have a black icky recurring fungus in their ears, which is not earmites. I just wonder if they have a fungal skin infection and maybe your cat Murray does also. Fungus' really irritate bladders, kidneys, urethra, etc. I am going to wash my kitties w/anti-fungals & also natural anti-fungal shampoo. Murray is all kinds of adorable, by the way.

  3. I was using royal canin then we bought Acana for a change. I was mixing in old food. 10 days later we visited vet and they said lung infection then 5 days later FIP then 5 days later UTI but we were too late. I was visiting vets everyday cos wasn't getting better. All 3 vets knew what i was feeding him, i have videos of him eating different food and showed vets, all vets said, Acana is good food. After my cat died i suspected, checked internet and saw many complaints about Acana and Orijen causing kidney issues on cats. So many and they still sell that food.

  4. Hi Dr Jones, I know this video was published 2 years ago but my cat is having urinary problems again and I need help or advice. We saw the vet 3 weeks ago when he first had a urinary problem. He was given medication and antibiotics. All was going well till two days ago when my cats wet food ran out so I fed him dry food. And today he's having problems urinating again. His wet food arrived so his back on wet food. Should I take him to the vet again? What should I do?

  5. I use Purina one wet foods and some dry foods urine formula also cbd oil Doctor Jones Ultimate feline supplement. Keep litter box clean with litter Genie urine aciderfier, but I tell poorer people just get wet foods added water to it. Watch here. My cats are members of Banfield wellness program. But he is right thank God he not afraid to tell the truth.

  6. Not all cats are the same 🤷🏿‍♀️One could have it once and never have an issue again mine I tried to switch his food and it was bad news bears for him and expensive for me!He just needed more water so he doesn't get just dry food anymore!

  7. my cat has crystals; no blood, straining/excessive cleaning herself. I've only seen them these 2 days. She's been eating more wet food than before? She drinks more water than any cat I've known. Her preference is kibble (with probiotics) and her favs are foods with fish e.g. salmon. I've many tins of wet foods I can't waste I will alternate with poultry & meat options, I will give her Zero Water filtered water (better than Brita) from now on. After reading all the other comments I added 1/8 tsp of apple cider vinegar to her water fountain. I've many pounds of her fav kibble which I will occasionally top with Orijen Regional Red kibble. I will slowly lessen the amount of kibble & increase the wet food. Please tell me what else I can/should do. I'm on a limited income that's why I can't just give away or toss the food I have. She weighs 7.5 lbs. I feed her 1/2 cup of kibble a day, I have 4 dishes & a fountain of water for her and within this month she's increased eating wet food from 1/2 tsp. a day to 1 & 1/2 tsp a day always mixed with an equal amount of water.

  8. My cat got a urinary tract infection a few days ago, found blood in his urine after his potty habits changed. My grandma insisted we go to the emergency vet because that’s what she did with her own cat, but uti’s are quite easy to treat on your own and the food they put your cat on takes forever to help and it’s expensive, not to mention the medicine too, it’s also annoyingly expensive, and I didn’t want to spend so much on having a vet look and tell me what I already know. So, all I did was buy some organic apple cider vinegar the next day after finding blood in his pee, syringe fed him the watered down vinegar and kept an eye on his pee. Bought some wet food, mixed it in, then ordered some $7.00 uti drops and some cat cranberry chews to be delivered. But, they didn’t arrive until the end of the day, and near noon after constantly syringing watered down apple cider vinegar into his mouth, he started to finally pee LOTS and instead of little spots here and there only minutes apart, he started peeing the amount he normally does, about an hour and a half apart like usual. By the end of the day his bloody urine went from bloody, to pink, to barley pink, to clearish/pale yellow. He was acting so cuddly and lovable after the relief and it only costed me around $30-$50 to get some really good wet food, some uti drops, apple cider vinegar, and some cranberry chews. He didn’t even need the cranberry chews or the UTI drops, but I’m putting them in his food just for good measure. He’s peeing happily and was basically cured in about 20 hours. I didn’t even have to add any Diatomaceous Earth. No expensive vet visit, no slow acting medicine or antibiotics that do more harm than good, and cause your cat to stay in pain for an annoyingly long time, no crappy food that isn’t all that great, just some TLC, lots of fluids, and an acidic vinegar that dissolves crystals and clears out bacteria. Simple, easy, fast acting relief!

  9. Good Morning,
My male cat has had two rounds of urinary blockage ( Struvite crystals) the last of which he had PU surgery at an ER Vet clinic. The vet stated to keep him on his regular wet food diet during his two weeks of recovery and then switch him to a bladder friendly diet. He is not wanting to drink water so I add some water to his wet food. My concern is that he will not like the rx wet food and how I might add something to it to make it more appealing so he will eat it and still be good for him. Thank you! PS he hates wearing the cone but I keep it on him unless he is under my direct supervision.

  10. Commercial cat food, both dry and wet in the long term causes their body to break down because a lot of those things they cannot properly metabolize. I'm so tired of cats being put through this suffering over and over just because the owner doesn't want to make an adjustment. Lots of owners, it's simply because they don't know and I was one of them. But I did my homework. Cats eat meat, they are obligate carnivores. It's crazy that such a simple fact is being treated as madness. The best thing you can ever do for your cat is to put them on a raw diet. Otherwise you're just continually playing with fire and over complicating things. If you saw someone feeding their child garbage everyday, how would that make you feel? That's how I feel when I see animals being fed in such a way. It signifies a complete lack of respect for that animal.

  11. My cannot pee anymore. We've been to the ved and they put catheter to him. We went their for tye second time to put another catheter because he was able to remove it. After 30mins when we arrived home, he was able to remove it again. Now he can't pee anymore. i kept feeding him urinary SO, and his meds: Nefrotec, methiovet and cefuroxime.. No help at all. I can't go back to the vet. I don't have money left. 😭😭😭

  12. Sorry but the Hill's K/D is the only one my cat with renal failure will eat, for about a year now. Her numbers have gone down even. I too thought this was crackpot but no, it has really stabilized her kidney condition and extended her life.
    I am a believer

  13. I had my cat on smalls food raw diet and he developed a UTI, The vet recommended that I put him on a UTI wet or dry food diet. My gut is telling me to keep him on this diet but get a few cat fountains, and add some tiki cat broths to top his meals. But the vet recommendation is for a prescription diet. What should I do?

  14. My dog has stones in his bladder and they are forcing me to give him this can UR food that has meat products? My dog hates the food. I use to cook him chicken and vegetables no corn nor grains but the vet says not to do that

  15. My cat Fuzz was put on Royal Canin Urinary SO by my vet after he had a bladder infection and was on it for a few years and I really hope that it didn't contribute to his death.

  16. After my male cat really wasn’t eating the prescription urinary food, I contacted his regular food company, Dr. Marty Nature’s Feast. My cat eats the freeze-dried raw food, which I hydrate in water.
A cat’s pH should be 6.0 to 6.5. Magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus are not good for cats in higher doses.
I learned that his regular food has a pH of 6.3, 0% magnesium, 1% calcium, and 1.01% phosphorus (.05 is the minimum per AAFCO). And contains none of the junk in the prescription canned food. Sounds good to me.

  17. The specific brand of Urinary s/o has a compound in it that helps break up crystals, but you’re right! I don’t really see the point of the dry version, when the point is to hydrate them Even when I did use kibble before my cat got sick, I’d blend it up into a powder and mix it into a wet food at feeding time.

  18. Some important points are missing.

-Crystals are made under specific PH, where certain minerals are increased, and form crystals under specific conditions. Royal Canin attacks both of those, dissolves crystals already created, keeps PH at healthy level, and prevents formation of new crystals. Regular wet food can not do this. Royal Canin also increases drinking.

-Water is super important, but if you give cat a hard water like we have in London, this increases the minerals intake in unhealthy levels for the cat. So you need to give only filtered water. Super important.

-Get a water fountain with filters in a style if drinking your pet prefers. This increase the drinking

-Stress can influence all of the above. Reduce stress. Increase activity.

-Litter. If litter is not clean enough cats will hold urine in for longer thus impacting on PH, and crystal formation potential. So keep litterbox clean and offer more then one box if possible.

-Wet food, very important. But alone not enough. Perhaps the raw diet might be the best if you can afford it. But realistically how many of us can. So include specialised Royal Canin wet food, or best wet you can afford.

Royal Canin saved 2 of my boys after the blockages, but only by following other methods above equally. They never had a recurrence and died years later of old age.

Of course some of the methods mentioned may work on some cats, of course. But considering the price of unblocking and hospitalization I had to pay, would I risk not using Royal Canin? Personally, no.

So please mention all the relevant elements of the causes and solutions, which will help us understand the desease and future prevention of recurrences. Royal Canin obviously worked for 2 of my boys and I am grateful to them for creating this veterinary food.

  19. What is the life expectancy of these cats with this disease. My cat was diagnosed with it 18 months ago and just had his first flare up something. I was mixing dry/wet together because that’s what he wanted but now I’m changing over to wet completely
