  1. We adopted a big dog pitbull mix. after our Tony~O passed from brain cancer. We mainly did that cause Candida doggy missed her hubby. Well all was great for approximately 6 months and on Easter which was my birthday and Tawny cat of 10 years..we came back from Church and I was crying over our missing our Siamese cat.named Chaity..and then i found Tawny dead in the yard that day.!!!..No blood..but sadly laying there..she was out in the morning for maybe 10 or 15 minutes..before we left for church and we got Tony back In the house before we left. We think he got rough with her..then learned that some dogs have high prey drive…we were blind sided never saw this coming. I am still traumatized and deeply saddened..I. cry over losing innocent Tawny.😭 We need education everywhere so people learn that this can happen and constant monitoring and separation etc training is needed. We learned the hard way. We were not aware that this can happen even if they are fine together in the house. Please spread word..I am… Thank you. Your Pippy doggy is sweet and cute.

  2. Okay hear me out you guys might hate me for saying this but the reason why I don't like big dogs because I have this irrational fear of things that look like it can kill me. I'm more so talking about like a 2-year-old Great dane. Like I don't care about older bigger dogs but if they're hyper and big I will be scared shitless. And I know this sounds really dumb but I live with a big dog and I can't even look with that or sometimes with out crying because recently I had this kitten that I was really attached to he was kind of my only source of comfort in my household and my dog killed him. so big dogs with boxer like ears scare me and German Shepherd scare me cause I witnessed one attack my grandpa before

  3. I was a strong defender of Pits and Cane Corsos UNTIL Icarus Thug Pug, Godot Bardot the Bichon and I were attacked by a badly managed Corso whose small lady owner couldn't handle him. My dogs stood their ground, I was the one who got knocked down and bitten…now, we just cross the street when we see a threat. Yet Icarus loves the big-dog area at our dog run (yes, still open) but I keep a careful watch.

  4. My bigfoot is a very large dog he was 117 pounds but he has lost some weight thank God. But he is 13 year's old and has cancer and severe arthritis in his hips etc. I wouldn't take the world over for him and Arnold.. dogs are a true blessing my friend.

  5. My dwarf pinscher is aggressive with big dogs. This can be a nightmare when we meet some in the streets. Most of the time the big ones ignore him but at other times they react ! So I avoid them when I can as in a city it's always a one time encounter.

  6. At least you can take your 🐕 for a walk. My Maltese won't go for a walk At All. She's so scared she just hugs the ground when I try to take her for a walk. I have paper trained her because she won't go outside. I rescued her last year and it took me this long to get her to open up to us.

  7. Ok. My dogs are picking up on the tension in humans and risk of dying from coronavirus, but the dogs cannot understand what is scaring all the humans. So all dogs including my own appear to be perceiving the other dogs in the neighborhood as a threat and some people.

  8. It’s often the case that we bond more with one dog but be sure to give all your dogs the same amount of attention and love. Otherwise it creates jealousy within the pack. Your dog pippy is so playful and beautiful. Don’t favor your other dog- it’s not good for either dog to do that.

  9. Big dogs are not mean!!! Tula will be anxious if you are. Dogs can read body language of other dogs. Walk on by if the large dog is hyper. Only stop if it is a calm large dog. This works!!! Watch Cesar the dog whisperer – he has many episodes on this.

  10. The personality of dog has nothing to do with the size, but with the genes & breed. It's also related with the experiences they have had in life. Most of my dogs are big, but the smallest one has the strongest personality!

  11. I swore I saw a video the other day when you were saying coconut oil can kill your mites I can’t find the video anymore if it exist I can’t find it can you respond back please

  12. I get that, I own my very 1st carpet shark, LOL (she's a Shih Tzu )And she is a miniature, I got her when she was four years old. At that time she was under weight she was taken from a puppy mill and she was in HORRIBLE CONDITION!!! she weighed 4.5 pounds. she is now six yrs. old and weighs in at a healthy 6.5 lbs Yes she is tiny. Every other dog I have ever owned has been either a Rottweiler or/and pit-bull (had them both at the same time 🥰) I think these are GREAT dogs if trained well. What I HATE!!!! Is little dogs that are allowed to come up and attack my big dog's🤬🤬 When I take my big dog's on walks they are ALWAYS ON LEAD, Yet it always amazes me when folks have these little dogs that are not on lead or are on these really long leads and these carpet sharks come over and start a fight with a dog large enough to eat them in ONE BITE!!! Then the owners of the little carpet sharks get pissed off because my big dogs finally start to growl after they have been charged at, growled at, and once even BITTEN🤨. OR THE LITTLE MONSTERS COME FLYING OUT OF AN UNFENCED YARD AT ME AND MY DOG. My little dog HAS BEEN TAUGHT that this IS NOT appropriate behavior. And she moved in with a pit-bull, they are good friends, they play well and have no issues but she does understand the size difference. I also simply have let her know that antagonizing a big dog that she doesn't know when we are out , DOES NOT MAKE MOM HAPPY. Dogs are fast learners
So anyone else run into this issue?? Love to know about it. And hey Doc> Maybe you could do something on this problem
Thanks. I do enjoy your show Very informative, CUTE CRITTERS!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again, take care and may God Bless you and yours
    Miss Deb, Pup, and Murphy

  13. I am responding only because you asked. You mentioned the things you have tried to boost Tula's confidence and to calm her anxiety, but what are you doing for your own? Seeing your dog get attacked has an effect on you as well as the dog. Dog's will typically release the past by (literally) shaking it off — so long as we let them. It's usually harder for us to forget the past than it is for them. If we are harboring the emotions of events from the past, those get transmitted to our animals, especially dogs. Granted, they can have "stuck" emotions, which can be released through a process called "The Emotion Code" (look it up, it works). It works for people and animals. Another option is to get together with other friends of yours, who have big dogs that you trust. Go out with them to help you relax while walking Tula. This way you won't have to worry about whether or not you will have to handle a situation, on your own, should one arise. Safety in numbers, right? Whatever you choose to do, work on your own anxiety as well as the dog's. You will have a much richer experience on your walks. Good luck to you. I love your videos and value your expert advice.

  14. Our big boy is a sweet heart. He puts his head down and walks slow to approach people and small dogs he’s 110 pounds.I got him at 7weeks and he’s 10 years old.We did raise him with a little dog,she passed a few years ago.But he’s always been gentle and aware of his size,It’s sorta amazing.I have noticed that some large dogs like this German Shepherd in out neighborhood is aggressive and barking like crazy and pulling toward people and other dogs when his owner walks him.Our dog doesn’t bark much, and doesn’t bark at people or other dogs,(only when someone comes to our front door.)that might be part of the reason we have peaceful walks. We were Blessed with a sensitive Dog.

  15. Hey, I'm rooting for team Tula & Peppe! Unfortunately dog owners have to keep them on a leach when they are unable to FULLY be in control of ANY situation that arise. ALSO, aggression happens more frequently with intact dogs, most of my encounters where with dogs that where NOT neutered. I love all dogs my first was similar to Peppe but darker, was my neighbors dog who pretty much lived with us lol (she waited for me on the balcony in the morning, walked me to school too! I loved that dog so much, was my BFF for a long time. But, as an adult my heart was stolen a few decades ago by a tiny mini Doxie (now on my 3rd rescue, all elderly 🙂 – I have to say that all dogs over 20lbs ARE big dogs for my mini Doxies.

Because of many attacks/incidents I rarely go to dog parks anymore (when I do I keep them on a leash outside the fencing area, they can socialize without being jumped on or attacked) BUT, I found a dog park that has a section for dogs under 20lbs, I go in but keep on the leash, by law if you let your dog loose even at the dog park or in your yard and gets attack then there are no recourse for you legally. I will allow them off leash on Dachshunds events since they are small dogs around and even when they get in a scruff it ends quickly hence safe enough to let loose but I am in constant watch of their movements, takes a few seconds for things to turn badly, or stolen!

Some dogs wont recover from a serious attack, PTSD exist in pets too, going out off leash will just make them stressed and potentially become aggressive toward any dog that will come close. Taking small baby steps and keeping safe and alert (keep your phone off!) will help your dog gain confidence again, if not, it's ok too, find a few people with small dogs that wish to meet up, keep it a small group this way they can play and be safe.

  16. With my American Bull dog being attacked by "off the lead" staffies 3 times while she was on the lead. It's unfair to brand big dogs as the aggressor's. My French Bull dog is the trouble maker. I respect other dogs you putting both dogs on their leads when approaching other dogs. Smaller dog owners are the worst for letting their dogs run and bark at the bigger dogs. Big dogs ever time for me

  17. Have you ever seen a chicken get a sudden fright. Oyt freezes for a min or so, of another chicken comes along and it gets the feeling of fear it will also freeze, but if it's brave and carries on the first chicken will follow its reaction perhaps you are feeding into this when you go for a walk, probably not but it's possible. Iv always found small dogs think they are big and sometimes and annoy big dogs ures iv always had big dogs. Shephards labs, setters, afghans, standard poodles etc. But I do from all sizes of dogs and find it is the small dog that will try snap at big dogs, of passing another crate. Personally never seem a big dog do it. I do think w expect to much from our dogs, they are animals and react with basic instinct, not always what we want. Of your dog is inclined to snap at our attack any orher dog, it should be on a lead. End off. In 40 years of grooming iv been bitten about maybe at most 4 times. All small dogs

  18. Tula is a fine dog I love see her and pippy.I have a problem like you but opposite yours. I have a big dog always on a lease when I walk him. Little dogs come at him unleash
. I have to pull him in close to me and wave my walking stick back and forth to keep the little dogs from attacking him. Never get a I am sorry from the owners. Also I don't allow people to touch my dogs, but they just keep trying to. I have to keep saying no,no, no. It some time really upsets me. I guess I have to deal with it cause I want to walk my dog. That's why must of the time I just walk him around in the woods at our place. I have the small dog and people problem on vacation.
