Just make sure your lawn hasn't been sprayed with pesticides for 3-5 years, because dandelions are really good at pulling up those pesticides into themselves, and those pesticides can take that long to break down completely. You could pick some of the seeds and grown them in pots with organic potting soil, if you really want to get the benefits of dandelion without the pesticides. And you can even buy dandelion seeds if you don't have any locally. In a pinch, chickory, which is in the same family, can be planted instead.
