  1. What strength tincture? Is it ok to glycerine tincture? How much to give a feral cat to tranquilize for safe & quiet handling & to reduce drama when they need to to be put in a cat carrier & moved?

  2. Awesome to know this! My yellow Lab is so picky. Don't touch my paws, she licks, and my ears, yeast.
    Anything to calm her down!
So I'm wondering how 100 mg of tincture would equate to the ground root in capsules. ?

  3. Thank you so much for this video dr. Jones !
Can I give my cat valerian root tincture 2.5% in drops, that is for made for human, or does it have to be for valerian root that is made for cats ?

  4. I have used valerian root for years to help with my dogs anxiety especially when I am at work for long hours at a time… I’m no longer working those hours but when I did, this helped keep them relaxed!

  5. I have personally been using the capsule form of valerian root for at least 25 years for sleep off and on. It is the best sleep aid I have found when anxiety creeps in. No grogginess ever. I never thought. Of the tincture form for my car who gets a bit stressed when we travel. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I do also het the occasional back spasm. Who knew VR could be used for that! 👍🏻

  6. It grows out of the stone walls just around the corner from where I live in England. Lovely useful plant, but very stinky ! Good to know that my dogs can also benefit from this. Thank you for sharing!

  7. I'm from india doc, where would i get it? Also my dog has seizures…. i recently started following you, must say a very few handful of vet's recommend natural remedies for the illness… and I'm glad to have found you on YouTube..TIA

  8. I have a question. Our lab pup keeps leaking urine where she lays down. She constantly try’s to eat the oleander flowers and stems from the neighbors bushes. We try to clean them up daily, but she still eats some. Could this be her leaky bladder cause? Shiba is 14 months old. She’s not always leaky.

  9. Hooray! We have used Valerian root on our babies for several years. Our rescued Anatolian used to have panic attacks when storms came up. Valerian helped him so much he now comes to ask for his valerian drop biscuit when a big one is coming but he doesn't bother for little storms! It has also been helpful with his separation anxiety. Valerian helps him recognize that what felt like a threat really isn't so he can better self regulate as time goes on. My good boy is doing great! ❤️❤️❤️

Yes, it does smell like a raccoon died in a florist's shop on Friday of a long weekend and it's now Tuesday morning, but that's very temporary. And it works!

  10. I have a question for you.last week I had my dog’s aural hematoma surgery and 4 days after stitches were removed his ear is swelling up again.is this considered a failed surgery or is it common?what should I do?please let me know and thank you for your help.

  11. Valerian saved my son's life! As a 9 year old he was having severe mental issues and this stuff kept him calm enough to go to school every day. It's also is great for my autistic husband 👍

  12. I had never heard of this! I have used valerian periodically throughout my life when life happened; ie death of my brother and parents, divorce and most recently, the disappearance of my daughter (she's still missing) but had no idea I could use it on my pup and my kitties! This could save BOTH my husband's and my arms, chest (and face!) from looking like hamburg after trying to cut nails, groom them, etc. Thank you SO MUCH!!!
