  1. Hi there you make some awesome points of the cost for your pets I'm in Canada ontario I take my dog about 10 minutes out of town to save money the city the cost unbelievable out town just take him in to have him look at is 70 dollars I have question for you if don't mind I'm looking for a second opinion I'm not swimming in money right now as my income is disability my dog is 13 I had to move and we believe he has now developed allergies we are assuming cuz the veteran can't find anything thing else wrong then his nose inside one side a bit swollen what happeneds after being outside he has sneeze attacks then blood comes out of his nose so gave me some antibiotics the first pill bleeding stopped the antibiotics are for 10 days so after the 10 days 10 days laiter starts to bleeding again then back on antibiotics and the repeated process now its 3 sets of antibiotics he's on again so I thought since it lasted 10 days after the antibiotics were done mabey give it to him for 5 days then see if he last 10 days again cuz antibiotics last what 3 days most after they are done my vet said no keep for 10 days I'm reading long periods of antibiotics can cuz problems also he mentioned Specialist out of town scope up his nose thats about 2k just to find out I don't have so im wondering 2 things is 5 days enough will in time cuz him more probblems I'm also trying to save some money the antibiotics are 30 bucks a shot I found a site to get them at half price script from the vet and I can get them tyvm for your video if you could give me an answer I'd really appreciate it if you can't I understand I've subscribed to your channel weather you do or not give me advice 😀

  2. My cat got blocked up so he couldnt pee and the vet wanted to either charge me over 2k to fix it or to put him down. I just made her clear the blockage and let him heal and hes doing fine 1 year later.

  3. These vets need regulating !!! They charge these extortionate prices which are absolutely ridiculously expensive. A human could get treated by a private doctor for less than these parasites charge. I HATE THEM 😡😡😡😡😡😡 Thieving BA*TARDS !!!!

  4. I had a vet biopsy a mosquito bite on my dog (I saw the mosquito bite her) then wanted 800 bucks to precede withe treatment, I told her it was an insect bite and she got mad, said my dog likely had cancer, that was 7 years ago no problems, I didn't listen to one thing she said. Had another vet tell me my dog needed double knee surgery for 6000, this after x-rays, the consult surgeon said my dog was an emergency case needed surgery asap, and the price went up to 7500. Five years later my dog is playing fetch no pain and can jump and run, never did get the surgery, just rested her a few months, did massage and natural supplements at home. I no longer trust a single vet.

  5. We have “U Can” spay neuter clinics that offer vaccines and spay/neuter and some procedures but I wish they offered everything because it’s affordable for most people and even free for some. Some people get free food from them for their pets and when I go I donate enough to spay/neuter at least 2 pets while I’m there.

  6. My dog is about 19-20 pounds and he needs 1 tooth pulled. They said it would be around $400 and I was wondering is that the norm? I'm sure it would've been way more at some other places. The price also varies A LOT. The first vet I went to charged me to do so many things and OVER priced all of them. I never walked out of there spending less than $200 and that was for basic stuff like testing, vaccines, etc. Then I switched vets and only spent $50 the first time I was shocked because it made me realize how badly I was getting ripped off.

  7. Yes Vets care in UK is absurd and wayyyy over the top people cannot afford vets fees – animals suffer, humans suffer, vets get no customers , who wins????? vets if you do CARE like this gentleman here then change your practices , otherwise most of you will be out or practice eventually, Never met a poor vet, so clearly its ''profit'' and its killing animals, vets like the one here should set up a new veternary system , a affordale, reasonable, sensible vets care and dont use BIG PHARMA for your supplies. STOP feeding these corporate giants.

  8. I rescued my dog when I was living in So.America. He was hit by a car and had a serious fracture on his leg. I was told he may never be able to use that leg, and he went into surgery to have rods inserted. He was only 6 months old, and, as his bones grew, they pushed the rods out. So 6 months later, he underwent another surgery. EVERYTHING, every single thing, from bandages, many Xrays, pre and post op visits, for the 2 surgeries… cost LESS than one visit to the vet here when he ate something poisonous- and they did nothing, just measured his blood levels three times. The problem is here in the USA, and yes, something needs to be done ASAP. Thank YOU Doctor, because your channel has saved me money and worry in regards to my 2 rescue dogs. You are loved and appreciated in our home! <3

  9. this is the second video i have watched from this channel and no valuable information or advice or explanation why the vet services costs are so high. complete waste of time! I can record hours of my own rhetorical questions as well. Thumbs down

  10. I couldn’t afford it and my dog died. End of story. It’s all about the money. I’d charge no more than 400 if I had my own shop. I’d even allow payments. Why is the world consumed with money..

  11. My cat was hit by a car and when he when I found him he had a really bad limp wouldn't put any weight on his paw. I could tell his leg was broken in his chin and jaw looked swollen. We took him to the vet and for her to do X-rays to tell us that you did have a broken leg and a broken jaw and to give him some pain medicine cost me all the money I have and then she tells me that he's going to need surgery probably multiple surgeries to fix his leg. That cost me $1,200 I don't have anymore money right now and there's no vets that I can find that do a payment plan with me, they all want the money for whatever they do that day. I don't know what to do. He's only 2 years old and it's killin me seeing him in the pain he is in. I have his leg wrapped in an ace bandage . I don't want him to lose any use of arm. Amputation will cost just about the same as surgery. I applied for as many loans as i can and all have turned me down. I don't understand how no one is willing to help me. I don't want to see him hurting this.I really just don't know what to do…..

  12. I also want to say Dr Jones you are just great in helping so many of us with our precious pets. And you do it holistically with reasonable cost. You are a champion! Thank you for your caring information. You truly make a difference.

  13. I know a lot of us are in the same situation. We love animals, but the cost gets too out of hand. And yes many veterinarians make you feel like you are a bad pet owner if you don't follow through with their heavily urging suggestions. But the cost is too much some times. I wonder. There are crowdfunds for people that have grouped together to help each other with the growing health and medical costs for people, why not for pet owners.

  14. Veterinary fees have become so high that I wonder if I can even afford to own a dog due to the high cost when health problems arise.
Insurance is one answer, but there are so many loop holes.
A governing body should assess and cap veterinary procedures.
I have had some very fairly priced, highly competent, absolutely brilliant vets.
I have since moved house and some local vets here seem to charge what they like and their prices keep rising, the are free to charge ridiculous amounts for their service and medication. It's crazy and very frustrating.
Thankyou Dr Jones for all the wonderful advice you give, you have helped my pets and I immeasurably.

  15. After I was quoted $2,000+ to have bladder stones removed from my 12 year old cat, I saw a holistic vet. She charged me $300 and prescribed a Chinese capsule for 90 days and change of diet to healthy variety and raw. His stones dissolved and he's so much healthier and happier.

  16. Thank you for making this video. Sometimes I feel like vets look at is like we are crappy pet parents when we can't afford THOUSANDS of dollars for care sometimes. It's not like a human emergency room where you can go in and pay later. I spent $350 on just basic blood work, no treatment or prescription, just blood for my cat yesterday.

  17. if you dont have money you cant afford your pet, iam from slovakia and teeth extraction and cleaning cost arround 50 euro it sound like a 1/30 of amount in your country or whatever

  18. Dr. Jones. I live in a small rural location where the vets do not even take emergency call. We have to drive over an hour away to get emergency services. What do you think about that one?

  19. I'm so grateful you for your presence online it's always grateful to find somebody that's not part of the conspiracy behind the problem one problem I see is veterinarians doing unnecessary lab tests say a cat's got a runny nose they have seen it before and the lab test comes back the same every time when you think they would prescribe and get you out of there so they can examine the next animal? I think the majority of veterinarians take care of increasing concern for animals and the close relationship between some owners and their pets and exploit that maybe if there were specialist like four cars where one veterinarian only does a limited range of things and keeps busy maybe the price could be reduced for dentals these veterinarians know they got you you're either going to Fork it over or you're going to be a bad pet owner I remember some years ago there was criticism of positions for Unnecessary lab tests being heaped on a patient I think that's what's going on to veterinarians now they're refusing to use their personal observations and diagnostic skills and relying on unnecessary lab tests everyone should write their attorney general's office in Veterinary associations and say they've had enough
