  1. after her last rabies shot my dog can now only eat hydrolyzed dog food(prescription purina HA) but after several months on it she started eating my other dogs feces. She never ate any dogs feces ever prior to this. Vet says no big deal. I am looking for a new vet. This seems to be the only dog food she can eat without being in horrid stomach distress.

  2. Thank you so much for this video. I feed my cat Nugget this exact food since it was recommended by my vet due to her vomiting. What do I feed her instead? What do you suggest? She has a very sensitive stomach. I would super appreciate any feedback and thanks again for your priceless information!

  3. Thankyou for this …a confirmation from a vet….I have been aware of these processed foods for years….never used them….I've tried telling other people but unfortunately they just take vet advice and then wonder why their pet gets sicker and sicker…..I went into the vet recently and while waiting in reception I was reading the ingredients of the greenies…the teeth cleaning chews for dogs….most of the ingredients was grain and carbs….I thought how ridiculous …given its used to clean teeth!!….the pet food industry is not regulated in Australia…not sure about elsewhere….they can put anything in it and say it's the best for your pet……it bugs me no end…..and I see all these pets in the vet clinics sick …and suffering……carbs are just a filler….its cheap….that's why they use it…..I only feed my dog real human grade fresh food which I make at home using grass fed organic meats with green veges….no rice!! I also don't vaccinate him or fill him with any flea or worm chemicals….he's completely natural and he's happy and healthy….kibble is just over processed …its not real food.. most pet food is rubbish….even raw pet food I find is of low quality….and who know if it's contaminated .I'm always suspicious when it says on label…not for human consumption…..its means there's a risk …..

  4. Thank you for pointing out truth! When my pointer was injured by a new vaccine they pushed on us, a week later he was getting reoccurring UTI. I did research online and there was a dedicated website made by people that had their dog injured by that same vaccine I was questioning. I searched the website to see if any others complained their dog developed UTI problems afterwards, and sure enough I was one of many that complained about this issue. I take that back to the vet after the third UTI and she was in denial that the jabs would cause any problems let alone UTI. Just because I was the first person to link a UTI problem with a jab doesn’t make it false. I’m sure hundreds of others never made that connection, let alone do research on what their vet was sticking in their dogs! So, I rejected the prescription diet she wanted him on, and I did more research on how to clean up my dogs system. I used cranberries, charcoal and turmeric for detox, and some UT supplements. I then put him on a raw organic diet for six months, and his UTI’s went away. Within 12 months I put him on Grandma Lucy freeze dried, and supplement with chicken. We are 7 yrs UTI free, and my 8 yo dog is healthier than most 5 yo dogs. I took him for his dental cleaning at a new vet, and they had TWO different people tryint to shove the Lyme jab down my throat and acted like a was dumbazz for not giving it to me. When I asked how many dogs have they vaccinated that developed Lyme disease even though they were jabbed, and they pretended they didn’t understand what I was asking. I unfortunately let them give the bordatella jab, and a week later he has kennel cough! My other two dogs that didn’t get the bordetella jab this year, are perfectly healthy. I separated my pointer, and now I’m seeing how I can help my Pointer without the vets! It seems like the industry is just in denial.

  5. Okay healthy cat community I need advice! So my kitty was diagnosed with megacolon at 18 months of age. She's 8 years old now. I have tried EVERYTHING. At least everything that I am aware of after literally years of research and dozens of vet visits and consultations.(Mind you we've tried these things over the course of several years. Obviously not all at once!) But basically… Every medication, probiotics, every supplement/enzyme under the moon, Miralax, rounds and rounds of enemas 🙁 Metamucil, pumpkin, We've done the homemade raw food diet (for several years)- I actually contacted veterinary nutritionist experts and had them help me with this recipe to make sure I got it right. We did commercial raw. We tried freeze dried, we tried dozens of brands of wet food, we tried… just.. ..everything. And she suffered for years. Hard dried stool, crying in pain, bloating, bowel obstructions… I was recommended surgery several times. The ONLY thing that I've found so far that's worked for her and that's helped her health get to stable place so she's not in pain (and her coat/skin condition FINALLY improved) is Royal Canin Gastrointestinal Fiber Response prescription dry food. She's finally happy, healthy, playful, pooing every day, no more crying in pain, no more pulling her fur out, shiny healthy coat, she's lots weight, no more bloating, no more enemas, no more Miralax, no more meds… all she needs now is this food. But the ingredients in that food are TOTAL $!^&. I HATE having her on it. So amazing healthy cat community- help? Advice? Is there anything I haven't tried that's worked for your megacolon/constipated kitties so I can get her off this carb loaded expensive RX dry food? By the way she gets blood work every 6 months. She has no other underlying conditions. Teeth are clean and good too!

  6. Yeah the vets get a cut.
    Known that for years.
I dont like dry food for cats & this spring i stopped giving it to mine.
They lost weight, they can clean their own bums now 🤭
It's cold in winter here so I cut the dry food out in spring bc they aren't as hungry.
    You're doing great work, my
    friend.

  7. We have a cat with urinary crystals and was told he needed prescription for the rest of his life. He is two! I tried making food for our cats, but they both hate wet food and went a full day without eating since they didn't want it. I finally gave them some kibble just to get food in them. The next day, they ate some of the home made food as they were hungry and immediately threw it all up. Is there a way to slowly change over that works? I even tried giving a little bit of each at each meal to see if their hunger would get them to eat a bit of it. That didn't work, either. Our vet doesn't want to give advice on it as they want him on prescription only. We have tried over Vet offices, but get the same answer. I ended up giving the wonderful home made food to the two feral cats we have roaming our property just so it didn't go to waste. Any suggestions from you all? I'm very discouraged that the vets are so unhelpful and just push this crap food, but I'm also scared to take our Tony off as I don't want the crystals killing him. I also wonder if anyone has a really great recipe for home made that makes sure they have everything they need. I found some online, but would love suggestions.

  8. Thanks Dr Jones for all your
    advice…
my sister showed me this article/ video….I put in search on Youtube – '528 healing music ' (for dogs,/ cats humans..) thought I would share it with you and your followers…so soothing, and peaceful…variety of 'topics'. God Bless You….
    better than chemical plug ins.

  9. Thank you for all the great information. I am currently feeding my soft coated wheaten terrier Hills Science Diet “Perfect Weight with Joint Support”. After watching your video on Hills Prescription Diet for cats, I read the label of the Perfect weight and ingredients look as bad as the ingredients you went over. Can you suggest a dry dog food for my 7 yr old female Wheaten? She currently weighs 41 lbs. Thank you in advance for your advice. 😁

  10. I’m so glad you pointed this out. My cat got a UTI and they put him on the hills prescription diet so he intakes more water to dissolve crystals. I never liked the ingredients and my cat ended up getting diabetes and later oral cancer and I strongly believed all this was linked with the prescription diet.

  11. FINALLY Yes! I bet vets are furious you’re telling the truth about the sht they try to pass off as “the best and most healthy food.” Thank you for the truth!!!

  12. I totally agree with you. My neutered male cat kept getting urinary tract infections and I couldn't figure out why so I took him to the vet,. Our vet told me not to worry because it happens to all male cats and put him on a lot of antibiotics 🤦🏻‍♀️ he didn't even recommend a veterinarian diet he just wanted to keep him on antibiotics every couple of weeks. I said this isn't going to work there has to be something else that needs to be done there is got to be something else causing the problem. Vet No No you can't take him off these antibiotics or he will die.🙄
So needless to say I did a lot of Research on the issue and low and behold guess what the root of the problem was 🤔 Dry Food and yes being neutered doesn't help but lack of Moisture #1 cause. So I started preparing my own dinner and breakfast meals for him with chicken tenders sometime beef stew meat and boiled beef liver plus I add Taurine, B-complex, Vitamin C and Apple Cider Vinegar and he hasn't had an issue since. Thats been over a year ago 😁🐱 Coat looks amazing and so much more energy.

  13. Yet veterinary offices offer a plethora of all the prescription dry, wet and treats. It’s absolutely some kind of racket and scam. What’s really laughable is a prescription from the vet is needed to buy it. There must be an alternative that is better.

  14. My cat wouldn't eat the rx food for CKD. I decided she should enjoy her life so went back to her regular wet food. She lived 2 more years and just died a few weeks ago. 😔 She was 19.

  15. What do I feed my two coon hounds my female is allergy to chicken grains i have them on nutrience fish and nutrience care stomach and skin my new cat is on orajin pacifica or akana my kitty is on kitty food by go

  16. With a pet product store where I work it is unfortunate to see how many people get pushed by there vets to buy their food. More recently I have had many people come in asking for probiotics. To a point we are always sold out and can barely keep them in stock. It is making me shake my head that the vets in my area are recommending more and more to the pet parents to put their pets on these on a permanent recommendation rather then actually solving what is causing the health issues in the first place. They are recommending probiotics for all kinds of things too, like to "help with allergies and skin issues" Not just for digestive anymore. To even help with yeast issues… and I'm stuck having to point out that even on the packaging of these probiotic products that we sell have a warning to not be used on a long term basis. I am sure there is a reason for that… The issues the pets are experiencing are not meant to be delt with there whole lives… And I wont even get into the whole fight we still have trying to teach people where Taurine comes from.. Cause the vet says grain. . . .🙄 They put out a lot of mis-information (and outdated) to the pet parents mostly because they are not nutritionally educated. It sucks, cause its hard to educate them otherwise most times. I have also noticed when I ask the pet parents what foods they have their dog on while in need of these probiotics, it is 9 times out of 10 a vet recommended brand, Pro-plan , Science Diet – Hills, and of course, Royal Canin. I do find it interesting and wonder if anyone else has noticed this. . .

  17. The only time my cat ever had a UTI was the first year I had her, she was on kibble. Then I switched to canned, and later raw. She rarely drinks water, but pees 2-3x a day. No urinary issues since and she's 14 now!

  18. Intended for dogs who have renal problems:

“Just Food For Dogs” is a really good brand and they have some “prescription” food with REAL ingredients.

Another one that I recommend is “Whole Paws”, which is only made by Whole Foods. The ingredients are all really good and Kidney safe/supporting. It is not an Rx food, which further shows the stupidity of the Rx.

I do half and half for my dog because she won’t eat the Just Food For Dogs alone. Together, they give her great bowel movements due to the sufficient amount of fiber. I tried making my own renal food…….I made (I KID YOU NOT) 5 gallon ziplock bags of her food. Go big or go home amirite?

I recommend wet/canned food over kibble because from what I’ve heard, kibble is cooked at reeeally high temperatures to make then shelf stable, which causes all of the nutrients depleted, so then they add synthetic vitamins. I also dont feed the Whole Paws exclusively because I cannot see chunks of ingredients. I just get scared and overprotective….my dog is made of glass.

(Over $7,000 in vet bills and counting. I am anal about every little part of her day so that she stays safe.

    ( Get insurance guys)

    No, I am not sponsored.

  19. I fed my dogs the skin allergy formula from Hills for a few years till they started to develop lumps on their body. I then decided to read the ingredients and saw that corn starch was the first ingredient. I felt so dumb for not doing my own research and trusting what the vet recommended. I immediately stopped feeding them that food and started a human food diet. The lumps have since gone down so much you can hardly see them anymore and they are now 13 years old and counting! Don’t feed your fur babies dry food. Almost all of them are garbage.

  20. It's sad vets see this food as the only resort. All of the vets I've been to have no idea what's even in it let alone the nutritional profile. Honestly I've been to 8 vets, 3 internists which includes the University Of Florida vet school. It's sad knowing what vets are being taught these days or lack of what they are being taught. The school very even told me the vet world is 20 years behind.
