It’s worth getting it decriminalised / how that would make it “worse” as you say doesn’t make any sense. Why would we copy laws of other countries? We would just relax our own ones obviously.

I see your position… But… it's coming from a recreational user and you're ignoring the nuances of a very complex situation. For instance around 'growing for medicinal purposes' in a prospective decriminalised UK. Decriminalisation would (/could) mean not having to worry about having coppers raiding your grow when you're literally dying. So keep an open mind about decriminalisation because it could be the best situation for patients/ hobby growers before full rec legalisation comes in and hands the UK industry over to whoever has the most money… Again that's fine if all you care about is buying and 1/8th and smoking and joint in the park but if you care about the future of the UK cannabis industry, the decriminalised interim period before the full rec takeover, will be crucial in securing the playing field. If you're optimistic that is, California had 20+ years then naive rec users fucked the game by voting for Prop64 because it was great for the individual user but ask the 3/4th generation farmers what they think of how shit went down 🙁

Decriminalisation would surely be even looser than the current UK laws which would be better.
It’s not decriminalised already: police can still lawfully arrest and charge someone (unlike other countries)
we need to get our voices heard when the regulations get written doctors do weird things to annoy people all the time. we need to make the plans to get the law makers to know us better, we need to make sure people dont start getting fined… there is no reason to fine some one or take away their weed… being asked to stop smoking should be more like if you comply that day then you should be able to get away with it if you are not actually bothering some one and the rule should be the same for cigarettes.
