  1. The potency has not increased at all! The plant has not changed for thousands of years! Obviously you could by brick weed from Mexico. Or something of higher quality. It's only due to the scare tactics of our government leading the people to be afraid of the high potency of todays weed. IT'S THE SAME AS IT'S ALWAYS BEEN! anyone thats says different obviously didn't have good hookups! Good weed was VERY hard to come by, but not imposable to get. The only thing thats changed is the price!

  2. My dad used to get Colombian when he imported cocaine in the 1970s, but not so much into the 1980s. (he died at 48 in 1990.) My mom likes to brag in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings about the piles of kilos of cocaine because she didn't like cocaine, and won't talk about the Colombian sensi that my dad got that she enjoyed.

  3. I remember getting weed in a coffee can for 10 bucks a coffee can Then we used to get ounces of black hash with Opie a minute from Germany that was the bomb it’s 35 bucks quarter ounce I think it was

  4. Buds been getting cheaper in ky in the past 10 years. Used to be 300 a zip and u had ky indoor (which no longer really exist because it's not worth growing here anymore being still illegal yet having to compete with a lot) and also back in the day I would get good Arizona press for like 800 lb and people loved it because $100 a zip was better than $300 but now prices are 150-200 zip for good quality just depends on who ya know. I don't see a lot of mids nowadays either because people turn it into extracts.

  5. I grew up in the seventies from 76 to 79 mostly partly into the 80s I used to get four fingers for 20 bucks cuz my mom gave me 20 bucks to allowance a month so yeah I miss those days and it was good weed and oh man Acapulco Gold was my favorite

  6. In New Orleans in 1976-77
Redbud Santa Marta was $ 25-30 an ounce.
    Jamaican was $15/oz
Thailand sticks were $15 per stick
    Mexican was $10/oz
Ludes were $5 a pop less for bootlegs.
    Cocaine was $100-125/gm
    LSD was $5 for blotter

  7. So I grew up as a teenager in the 70's. Yes, weed was cheap back then, but it was also quite weak, compared to today's quality. An ounce was between $20 – 25 and always loaded with seeds. We used to use album covers on a slight angle, with the brim of our Zig-Zag rolling papers packet to scoop the weed up and dump at the high end of the album cover, then repeat until all the seeds were basically separated.
Don't get me wrong, the weed still worked back then, but compared to the BC bud I now smoke, and the amazing concentrates of today, it would be considered very weak in strength. I honestly feel because the strength of what I buy these days that it far outweighs anything from the 70's. The cost is actually probably better nowadays if you were to take into consideration the quality of the high. You could smoke a $25 ounce from the 70's and I guarantee it would give you a headache long before it gave you the same high you get from today's concentrates.
Just for an example, I can buy a pretty decent ounce of weed right now, at a legal dispensary, for $120 CND. Sometimes even cheaper, but you do need to keep an eye on the THC %. I can buy pretty decent quality live resin for as low as $20 a gram. The only catch is you have to buy 7 grams, but you can mix and match between strains. I could never stay as baked as I am these days for as cheap as I can. Furthermore, I probably wouldn't find anything near the strength.
There was the occasional hash or Thai stick or some high-end strain that would come along back then. Often, for whatever reason, specialty strains and concentrates would always come around Christmas. I remember smoking some honey oil back then that felt like an LSD trip, it was so powerful. At least compared to anything I was used to back then. Weed has come a very long ways since then. If I had the choice to buy 1970's weed for the old prices, I would pass in a second. Today's shit is just way better, and cheaper, if you do the math. All my humble opinion, but I did live it…as far as I remember 😉

  8. This is long but worth reading, please bear with me.
Most people smoking today dont understand just how good some dope was in the 70’s. It was only grown locally so where you lived was a huge factor in the quality of your sh!t. I lived in Montreal and as such our northern climate made us a hash town, I have yet to smoke any hash today as good as what I smoked back then. As for weed choices, ours were limited though I occasionally got some choice Thai Stick, but the first time I ever smoked regular average grass I knew damn well that I was fu**ed up. In 1978 at 16 I vacationed in Miami and the pool guy hooked me up with his dealer whom I bought an ounce from. While chilling at his place he lit up a joint of his personal stash and in a single toke I was fried. I’ve never smoked anything that good since.

  9. The cheapest ounce I had was $20 which is sometimes flower but most times just shake the most expensive which was also on sell it was a top-shelf but it was $140 since it was knocked down from $200 an oz and this is in Oklahoma but most times I will settle for a $40-$50 oz of Bud from the bottom shelf love you videos by the way great information

  10. Owsley Stanly is supposedly responsible for people starting to weigh out weed instead of just calling it a lid . He is also responsible for synthesizing a great deal of the LSD in those days .

  11. I was in upstate New York in the mid 70's, and at that time all you could get was Mexican for $20 an ounce, but we usually only had enough money to share a quarter ounce for $5. Then in the late 70's, all you could get was Colombian which was then $12 a quarter ounce, or if you wanted to pay more, you could get sinsemilla if you could find it, but it cost a lot more. But I will say the sinsemilla then was as good if not better than any bud I've had today. And of course the Mexican and Colombian weed was nothing but stems, seeds, stalks, and leaves, but it got you buzzed.

  12. 20 dollars in 1970 is equivalent to like 112 today, so actually they were paying 112 an ounce, still hella cheap for an ounce considering i gotta pay 170-230 on the street for that, good to keep inflation in mind though, idk if this article accounted for that

edit: lolll i kept watching and he got to that
