  4. I'd like to avoid the problem by taking a different angle.  I would legally require businesses to permit dogs to enter (they're air-conditioned, right?) establishments, provided that the dogs are well behaved or at least under firm control.

  6. I used to live near a WaterWorld and would drive thru looking for pets locked in cars. It was a daily nightmare. Break the window! I can't believe people would go inside for hours and leave their dogs out in their cars to bake. They'd get mad when the dogs would vomit and poop on everything in their cars. People are not thinking – Act – save lives!!

  9. In California, where I'm from, a law called THE RIGHT TO RESCUE ACT took effect on January 1, 2017. This new law allows a good samaritan to break into a car in order to rescue a distressed animal from a hot car without legal repercussion. About five years ago I was involved in a similar situation where I noticed a dog in distress in a hot minivan with the windows cracked during one of the hottest day of summer. My friend and I frantically went into almost every store in a strip mall looking for the owner of the vehicle. Other bystanders who heard the dog crying in distress called the police. About 5 minutes after I noticed the dog in the hot minivan, the owner and her family were walking back to their car. I told the owner to quickly open the door because her dog was literally dying! A bystander gave her bottle water to the dog. When the dog owner was told that the police were on their way, she quickly left the scene. The police finally showed up about 10 minutes after the minivan left. We gave the police the license plate of the minivan but I don't know if anything was ever done.

I have rescued many of dogs from horrible situations, volunteered at animal shelters, adoption days and recently rescued a 4 wk old kitten that was very, very sick with hundreds of fleas and ticks. After bathing it and taking it to my vet for meds, shots etc. I screened the new parents and she is in a forever home. As for dogs in hot cars, this is horrific for any pet. I start around May every yr. checking all the Home Depot, Lowe's, & Walmart Stores. They constantly leave their dogs in cars and that is horrible. Last year a dog was left in a crate inside a locked car with NO ventilation. I was so upset, I went down every isle looking for this person, then finally went to the register and told the Mgr. to make an announcement. They over heard me and I told them to quickly get to her car because her dog might be dying. We put some water on the dog and I told her to get this beautiful dog to emergency. She was so thankful that I was concerned about her dog. I have had dogs all my life that always lived indoors, and I would never leave my dog alone without me in the car. I know you want to take your fur babies with you, but make sure they are with you in the car with the a/c on. If you cannot be with them…… leave them home in an air condition home. I would never trust to leave the dog in the car alone with the a/c on, because that can stop at any time. Please don't leave your dog in a pick up truck, on black top and concrete. It becomes very hot and your dogs feet will feel it. If your going to leave your dog outside, please make sure he has shade and plenty of clean water every day. Remember they depend on us and Please be a responsible pet owner. Thank Dr. for posting this segment. I have saved many dogs in hot cars.Dont be afraid to get help because you are saving a precious life.

  11. First, I love you so much and have subscribed to your U-tube a long time ago. I live in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA and I really do not know the laws but if I see an animal , any kind, I would break the window and get the animal to my A/C car with H20 and leave IMMEDIATELY…………………….that animal would NEVER see that person again. I would also take the license plate number, look it up and find the people to see if they had any other animals. I would try to get them away too……………if you can't or do not want to take care of an animal, THEN DON'T GET ANY…………PERIOD…………………..

  14. Hi I had a question regarding my dog peeing in her sleep, she hasn't done this until recently is there a way to stop this. I let her out regularly to pee and she does, but when she sleeps it seeps out and I find her wetting herself daily. She is three years old and has started this in the last few months I don't know what cause this or how to stop this do you have any ideas I can try?

  15. Doctor Jones thank you for this video I live in Florida and I know the dangers of hot cars!
    I pulled up to walmart and I heard this horrible barking it was a serious distress bark.
    I searched the parking lot and sure enough a beautiful black lab puppy in a hot suv.
    I was frantic and so was she…
    Bystanders warned me not to get involved, I called the police but they took forever.
    I tried every door all locked… The windows were cracked a bit, I have really small hands and I was able to get my arm in to unlock the door… Thank goodness.
    The police arrived 30 minutes later and the owner one hour later.
    Police officers here have a temp reader and it was 120 degrees in the suv..
    Please get involved
    Pets lives matter…

  16. Hey Dr. Jones, Living in Southern (Inland) California I've seen this situation several times over the years. I've basically done what you've recommended, barring a life or death situation. It's 110 degrees Fahrenheit here today. I just can't believe that people have no idea how hot it is in their cars. It seems like anybody, with even a modicum of common sense would realize how dangerous it is for ANY DOG! It's rather like putting ones' dog in the oven.   17. This is such important info. I was in a parking lot last summer and the temps were over 100 degrees. I heard dogs barking and walked around and found a car with three dogs in a car with one window cracked just a little. One of the dogs was trying desperately to get out of that window. It's a felony in Kansas to endanger an animal. I immediately called the police who responded very quickly and broke into the window. They then waited for the owners to return to the car. I left, so I don't know what the consequences were for the owners, but hopefully it was severe enough that they learned a valuable lesson. Laurie

Hi sweetie, my and my little Longhaired Daschund Sloopy are having problems with the teeny tiny noseeums gnats, indoors.. my little girl is being terrorized by them, I just don't know what to do for Her, a spray bottle of alcohol takes care of them and ALL other house pests around the house but not to spray on Her. This is an unusual problem for sure but She is in despair because She is Looong and can't reach Her back where they are biting Her, can you tell me what I can put on Her to stop them from lighting? Thank you for your channel!

  22. my dog died just from extended walk to a vet during hot day, no one was able to save her after symptoms appeared it only got worse. She did drink water before and after and seems absolutely OK before her back legs got suddenly weak and she lose control of her stool. I still not convinced that it was heat stroke or vet gave her something by mistake

  24. This has happened so many times in Wisconsin that they have altered the laws. Nothing is worse then a dog or baby in a hot vehicle. Can you post this on facebook so I can share it?

  25. I'd break that window in a Jack Flash minute!!! Stupid people leave their babies in the car like that too!! I suffer consequences later! Blessings Dr Andrew💝
