I'm over 50 and I still haven't seen brick weed.
I only learned a few years ago that ditch weed is a literal thing, acres of the stuff growing in ditches.
I'm in Oregon so it's always been homestone or nothing – I wasn't even in a rural area and people all over the neighborhood were growing it.

Actually the worst was getting sacs of this stuff that were straight up diesel fuel weed. Like it was EXTREMELY flammable
That’s the stuff we got in the 80s it was 💩 but like you said it was full of seeds so we just spread the love anywhere we could, it was so prevalent in my buddy’s grandma’s backyard that it choked out the lawn grass. It didn’t grow tall only about a foot and a half but it was a like one solid bud on a single stem, good times CHEERS
