Prop 64 was a huge mistake. People were getting oz's for $120, until this idiotic law took effect. Now you can only find 8ths for $30 +, and even that is scarce. Taxes are ridiculous, driving the price so high no one can afford it anyway. Time to repeal this stupid, ill-considered law and go back to the good 'ol days of MMJ.
Due to you greedy motherfuckers taxing up to 45% you are about to create the biggest black market ever in a legal state you really fucked this up California
you cant just let random people 'touch' your plants, that would subject the entire crop to pests, fungus etc from those people. Unless its not organic and being sprayed with toxic pesticides then i guess it doesn't really matter.
its still on the federal list why did they not mention this ? federal means they can still raid your house? stupid potheads want to legalize but cant even see the scam
Medicinal cannabis seems to be a joke. Home grown smoke is safest smoke, and for medical use, much more serious testing would have to be done on cannabinoids. I feel upset this hasn't been addressed for all those who can really be helped.
Lies! Provisions? Another Democratic Bureaucratic legislation to cash in! Prop 64 does not protect the smoker from the law the only provision is a small recommendation to do drug rehab for marijuana! Really? Are we going forward or backward classifying marijuana as addictive legal drug. Like the beginning of another ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms). Cities have quick power to ban marijuana from all their citizens in a counties that can take over 100 miles to get medical marijuana but how its being treated HAHAHAHA.
I know a secret…..That 5 milly they give the community off the top goes right back in their pocket as she said it will be given to those communities to do with what they need like "micro licenses for small businesses" which is like giving gifts away and then saying "now sell that and bring me the money you get for it, your welcome".
I don't know much about this whole weed legalization law, so could somebody help me out real quick? lol all I want to know, since it's now legal in Cali, will it be tested for at an employment interview? will I be turned down for testing positive?.. & I got my medical card at 19 years old, I heard now you have to be 21 to buy weed legally at a dispensary, does that mean I'm shit outta luck? I'm 20
Does anyone have specific pricing on the fee per cultivation land size or retail store size? What will be the requirements and fees be to open up a lounge for public consumption?
we as cannabis pioneer's must appeal to the greed of political leaders in an effort to be heard no one said change is easy or cheap we can work on suppressing the taxes at a later time let's make history now let's declare victory over the ridiculous notion that cannabis should be a scheduled 1 narcotic this just is not for Cali but for a step in national acceptance for our cause
I'm voting yes cause I know for a fact weed won't be federally legalized in my lifetime. I'd happily pay a tax and have a limit on how much I can carry just so I can have peace of mind. And to all the major growers, I feel for you, but we need this to make some damn progress to get rid of prohibition.
it's sad to see such a big name in the industry trying to brainwash the younger generation to get this bill passed to that it's "legal" when it really just hurts everyone. VOTE NO ON PROP 64!
I am scared for the future of my medicine if prop 64 passes. Please do not fall for the governments tricks. Vote no on prop 64. The legalization of marijuana is not the commercialization of marijuana. Fuck you High Times for supporting this shit. Unsubbed.
vote no. we all lose. 15% tax on top of regular state tax unless you get a state card. if you get a state card you lose your right to own a gun. supreme court ruling upholds california policy.
I have concerns with respect to current Prop 215 laws. Ms. Lyman posted under the "show more" button that Prop 64 would not change any medical cannabis laws. But isn't that the argument that was made under Washington State's I-502? Look at what has happened since I-502 has passed. Not a pretty picture:( Ms. Lyman needs to due a better job at addressing this issue. Full disclosure of what she knows about Prop 64 and how it compares with Washington State's laws and how this new law would not be an equal nightmare for ill patients of California.
lynne lyman thinks cannabis is a dangerous drug that needs to be regulated and controlled!!! why the fuck would we listen to her!? Drug policy alliance is funded by George Soros, who is one of the largest share holders in the company Monsanto, prop 64 is the big corporate wall street take over of the cannabis industry! this law was written by corporations for corporations. VOTE NO ON PROP 64!!!
Vote no on 64! In california it's already incredibly easy smoke freely. I don't want an additional 15% tax. Plus the additional business taxes will find their way back to the consumer as well. The 50 million dollar community tax shouldn't be a set number, this industry already makes billions here. This will impose big business to come in and take over and ruin an already thriving, customer focused industry. Furthermore it'll make it harder for the little guy to make a profit.
Fucken sale outs
This law has screwed medical patients. There is no such thing as compassionate health act anymore. It's catering to recreational marijuana use.
Prop 64 is a government takeover of the plant from seed to sale.. They can seize your crop at anytime if it doesn't meet standards

so can I grow a few plants in my back yard?

Vote no, look at the policy! The money will go straight to big companies. Not improving roads or public education.
Judging by the comments, people care more about money than saving people from prison. Sad.

Wait.. So I'd have to be 21 to be legally smoking marijuana? What if I'm 18 & I have a medical card?
Would yes or no on 64 have been an issue if Bernie was president???
lets make weed the next big tobacco 😄
Wait would we have to be licensed still if it passes and if so , would i be able to continue purchasing weed at age 19?
So does this mean i can keep my weed?
FUCKING DO THIS CALIFORNIA!!!!!!!!!!! WEST COAST UNITE!!!!!!!!

I'm voting no. it's not clear where the tax gets spent or by who
No on 64
No! No! No! No protection for 215 patients, its all for big business to "tax and regulate marijuana"
I don't give a shit about the growers.. if we can reduce crime and get people out of jail I'll be voting yes…
