  4. I love their story. The mom now being 80 reflects back on her life. She was orphaned and physically abused growing up. I love seeing the legacy she leaves behind of hard work, rising above her suffering, contrasting with other lives who perhaps find excuses that are very well real. Heck she can say that as a woman she didn’t experience equality, she can say that as a Latino she suffered discrimination, but she rose above all of that because life mattered more and has earned great honor, respect, and admiration. No excuses, just hard work and progress.

  5. I just learned a few weeks ago that it is illeagal to sell or buy cow lungs for food in the US. Not sure that is Lung at 5.23. Since 1971, the Department of Agriculture has banned the production and importation of animal lungs because of the risk that gastrointestinal fluid might leak into them during the slaughtering process, raising the likelihood of food-borne illness.

  6. Growing up in Peru my mom had her restaurant named “Antojitos” too. She stopped to put all of her efforts raising her kids instead and sold the restaurant to my aunt.

  7. Doña Fela´s story is so touching! The hard working story of a lot of women not only in Lima but all Latinoamerica. And sometimes we are asking for motivation because something meaningless is going bad in our lifes. Viva el Peru y vivan las mujeres luchadoras!

  8. I appreciate hearing their personal stories, so heavy and empowering. I am very proud of their success.

The grandmother is astonishing, I ❤ her!

I ❤ the BLM sign at their outdoor food station.
