Sold my Pax yesterday, buying my Arizer today! Don't waste your time with the pax, horrible quality vapor and breaks a lot/ needs to be cleaned practically constantly.
Ive tried both, and personally i like the solo better. Smooth consistant hits, along with the tenperature control and battery life is phenomenal. Dont get me wrong, the pax is awesome and very portable, but can reek. Overall, solo is better, but pax is more portable. I still love both. I have a flight box however, which i love too
Have both units, got the PAX first because its discreetness. I was initially pleased but got annoyed with how frequently I had to clean it. And even then, it never worked as well as it did out of the box. After a few months I got a Solo, by far the superior unit. The vapour quality is miles ahead of the PAX. Unfortunately, like others have mentioned, the glass stem is starting to get pretty lose but I'm just careful with it. Small price to pay for quality. But I may look into a wood stem.
I own both a Pax and an Arizer Solo and what it comes down to is… Pax = Portability (Casually bringing the unit nearly anywhere you might go without any hassle) Arizer Solo = Superior vapor quality and taste overall superior performance, however for home use or light use out of the house (Unit does not fit comfortably in your pocket and is only really something you can casually bring everywhere if you keep it in a backpack possibly for a college student)
You place them in the bottom end of the glass drawing stem, where you see there is a glass screen. Simply scoop up your botanicals and lightly pat them in. Then, holding your drawing stem upright, place the Solo vaporizer upside down and push the tube into the unit. Flip the whole thing upright and you're ready to go :).
Aw sorry to hear that Nebula. The stem is supposed to loosen after a few weeks of use though. This is Arizer's new design and it is meant to increase airflow, ultimately improving vapour quality. So it's a good thing! Of course as the stems are made of glass they are fragile, so the unit must be used with a certain degree of caution, but not to worry if the stems break. They're only $10 to replace! Grab yourself a bunch of spares to have on hand and carry they separately when you're on the go:).
You can buy a new one at torontovaporizer.ca for under $10 :). The Arizer Solo is on sale right now on our site for $199 (please keep posted on our site for price changes). You can also search on Google for promo codes to get an even better deal! 😉
The Solo offers by far the best vapour quality. It's also offers up to 90 minutes of continuous use on one battery charge), provides great temperature control and is super low maintenance. The PAX is fantastic in terms of its design, so its very portable and discreet. However, the battery life is weak (max 30 minutes), the mouth piece gets stuck, so you have to clean it daily otherwise good luck getting it to work! It also leaks vapour from the bottom lid :(. So, the Solo is way better value!!
The blog doing the actual comparison is in the description. Sorry, I should have put better captions in the video to explain that the video is just the intro to the actual review on our TorontoVaporizer blog.
Solo is a much safer bet I find. The PAX acts up a lot and the mouthpiece getting stuck has not really been fixed yet. They just introduced a lubricant as a work around. But all in all, a Solo is a workhorse, while you need to clean the PAX with alcohol every time you use it. I find I personally don't use the PAX often since it needs so much effort. Only when i go to a party I take it sometimes, since people get impressed with the way it looks 🙂
you need to find a converter, but the Solo is sold in Europe so you can find it with 220V. The PAX in contrast has not even been released in Canada yet.
Arizer should imagine that broken glass can harm people and IS NOT portable. Yet you can buy wood stems on the net, search. I´ve seen too many complains on Solo uneven heating, and cleaning troubles. I hope Arizer improves their product, a wood or plastic optinal stem beside the glass, and a even smaller size. Da Vinci seens hard to clean as is my Vapir No2 wich melts the inner rubber ring as happened to me and reported by some.
Hi
someone please describe the smell difference. My room's in a basement and my parents are right above me. i need absolutely no smell

That video is on our to-do list! You can expect it very soon!! 🙂
Please make an ascent vs solo video.

You definitely do need to use the glass stem with this unit. But when it's not in use you can simply remove it and carry it in your pocket!
do you need to use the glass stem on the solo? makes it not as portable and stealthy.
Can you turn off the loud beeping of the solo?

nice summary 🙂
Thanks for the feedback, I will keep that in mind for future videos!

Pax portabilitie is THE BEST. Yet you cannot control temperature as good as DAvinci ou Solo or No2.
Arizer should imagine that broken glass can harm people and IS NOT portable. Yet you can buy wood stems on the net, search. I´ve seen too many complains on Solo uneven heating, and cleaning troubles. I would recommend the Solo :). I tried both!
