  1. I know this video is from 3 years ago but I like dogs the way God made them. My tiny Chinese crested/chi mix tails was cut off wrong and his back curves unnaturally now but man is he the cutest and beyond loved 😍

  2. Please answer me doc you can find me on @2incrediblepups on IG. My weimaraner puppy was docked I bought her like that and she has been incontinent since I bought her. Is there a link to the docking. We have ruled out almost everything else (CT etc)

  3. I love dog tails! I was getting upset at the amount of rat terrier puppies I was looking for, that had their tails docked. I managed to find one who’s tail wasn’t docked, but it took a long while. The amount of breeders who are so happy to dock a dog’s tail is disturbing.

  4. I cropped my Yorkie's tail because by the time I got her at 8 weeks, she'd already broken it in 5 different places. Had it been docked to standard, she wouldn't have had to deal with the pain of a broken tail (several times) or late docking.

  5. I don't think it started out being for cosmetic purposes only. Those breeds that have this as a custom nowadays, usually started out having it done for practical purposes. If one is hunting game birds, it is a lot better to have a dog who moves through brush quietly, instead of flapping that tail around, announcing its presence. I also think it is unnecessary most of the time, but we also need to consider that there are lots of folks who feel the same way about spay and neuter, yet we encourage it at every opportunity. So I guess I understand that its different strokes for different folks!

  6. It is no longer allowed in Australia and you can’t show a pure bred dog with a docked tail which is slowly getting people are getting used to the look of dogs with tail in breeds that are traditionally docked as people become used to seeing dobermans and rotwhilers with a long tail less people want a dog without a tail it’s the same change that is happening with the question of circumcising of infant children with no pain reliefsaying it’s ok they won’t remember it is like allowing cruelty because they can’t complain or sex abuse of young children on the grounds of they are so young they won’t remember it’s all a cop out

  7. I always thought it was cruel. My American bull dog . Has his tail and his ears. Though the bully breed tend to have allergies . He just wouldnt be piggle with out them. fyi that tail of his is lethal .

  8. I agree and my small poodle went through this at some point in her life.  I have no  idea when this happened because she is a rescue to me and she was already docked.  Years ago, a woman I knew asked me to cat-sit her beautiful Himalayan who was de-clawed.  I understand this is not good either and causes pain.  I have never taken my poodle  to the professional groomer but years ago, before she became mine full-time,  I would often dog-sit her daily for my neighbor and on occasion she would be recently professionally groomed.  I  noticed her behavior seemed kind of sad and down in the days after the groomer visit.  Just a day before the groomer she was happy and playful with her natural curly white fur in no particular style.  She just seemed happier when her fur was all grown out and natural compared to the traditional poodle "movie-star" cut she sported after the grooming appointment.  Since becoming my dog full-time and it has been a few years now, I give her a simple trim every three or four months at home and the sadness problem has been solved.  I think she was stressed and traumatized by the whole grooming experience, being a sensitive and intelligent dog.   Great video, excellent!

  9. Most breeders will struggle to do it because sales will be slower, as the buyer also needs the mind change. but a ban can make it happen faster.
    Europe has banned docking Rotties

  10.
