  1. My fur baby is allergic to grains so what can I give him instead of rice as he is allergic to all types of grains, chicken, eggs, sweet potato and we do not get turkey over here

  2. Dr Jones. I really want to try this recipe but the internet says kale is not good for dogs. I trust you but I found so much info stating that kale can cause health issues including kidney and bladder stones. Is it safe to try?

  3. Hi Dr. Jones. I’ve come to your videos many times and today it was as a result of looking up info on food intolerances. My miniature poodle, Toula (almost name twins), has a sensitive stomach. She was on zignature’s kangaroo formula after lots of research as a result of diarrhea every couple of weeks. Once she got on the zignature we didn’t have the issue again.

Then a year ago she had to have surgery for bladder stones. The vet put her on royal canin hydrolyzed protein. They insisted that she must continue on this diet because she now will have a tendency to develop the stones again. It seemed that most people I spoke with said the same thing.

Well, now I think we might be dealing with the same issue. I thought at first she got into something outside. Did bland diet of white rice and boneless skinless chicken breast. Went back to the royal canin, she was fine for a couple days, then diarrhea again. So again rice, chicken and then some canned pumpkin. Went longer before adding kibble again. Stools firmed up and she was fine a few days then back to diarrhea. At this point I really don’t want to give her the royal canin again. I would have zero problem cooking her food but I am worried about the vet’s warning about bladder stones. Please help 🤍

  4. Hi, thanks for the video, one question, if you have more than 1 dog, only 1 dog has issues and eats different than the dog doing this diet, should you not allow them to share water dishes? Thanks

  5. Turkey has been our best boys protein (along with turkey livers). He now has an allergen (he started itching and has a hot spot on his tail) so we are going to use your recipe with pollack. Should we use the same weight of pollack as you use with the turkey? Do you believe in using Benadryl to reduce itching?

  6. I just made this my dogs ate it in 3 seconds. Lol I followed the servings suggestion actually gave a little more but they gobbled it and looked like "is that it?", they're yorkies only weigh 5 pounds

  7. My girl just turned 10 and I have been feeding her Farmers Dog for a little over a year. She has developed what seems to be acid reflux. About once a month, she will have these nausea episodes with hacking. It will last for 12 hours. No vomiting or diarrhea and she still has an appetite. The vet gave me a prescription for cerenia to help with he nausea but I want to find the real issue. The 3 main proteins in her food are either turkey, pork, or beef. Could these foods be too rich for her tummy to handle? I would like to try this recipe to help with her GI issues, but also wonder if I need to add a supplement for the vitamins and minerals she needs? I am so confused on what to do.

  8. Since they were puppies i've fed my 2 male shih tzus Darwins raw organic chicken and have mixed in the stella and chewy raw frozen chicken here and there because its easier to travel with. My dogs both just turned 4 and one has started making belching sounds after eating and developed a yeast infection in one ear and on legs and paws. I thought I was doing so good by them not feeding them dry kibble. I'm going to try this recipe for 2 months to determine if he's become allergic to chicken. My question is, should I be providing him a vitamin supplement during this time since home cooked doesn't include the added vitamins and minerals? Thanks as always for your contributions to our pets, your information is absolutely invaluable!!

  9. What about dogs that are allergic to grains and cant tolerate a lot of startches? My dog has tons of food allergies. I'm currently feeding ground goat and now she's starting to have allergies to that too.

  10. Hello, ‘SP’ again…
Tx for this, much appreciated as always.
❓Re: The brown rice & grain free
I know the grain free thing is a bit controversial & likely overrated, but my girl definitely has a sensitivity to it.
Would Quinoa or Riced Cauliflower be good substitutes?
    Or…?
    Tx

PS I know its not under ur control, but wouldn’t it be nice if there was a YouTube feature to search Comments as I’m sure u’ve been asked this already.

PPS As fyi, I’ve also tried the link for ur book… the link works, but the emails during the subsequent process never arrive. (I’ve tried several times & am vigilant about checking my Spam folder.)
