That’s what we’ll find out in this review of the D8 THC Shop’s softgels and cartridges. Delta-8 THC has been touted as the “lite” version of marijuana, offering users a smoother and more clear-headed high. Softgels are an easy way to try Delta-8 THC for the first time, as they require no external devices but may have somewhat of a lengthy wait time. Cartridges are more of an advanced user item since they require an external vape pen, but can deliver a powerful mind and boy in minutes. Let’s dive into this review and take a closer look at both forms of Delta-8 THC from the D8 THC Shop.

The D8 THC Shop offers a vast array of products that includes Delta-8 THC, CBD, and CBG. Their product catalog features edibles, flowers, pre-rolls, vape cartridges, and softgels. The 5-pack of Delta-8 THC softgels goes for $24.99 on their website, but can be purchased on sale for $19.99. The Delta-8 THC cartridges go for $39.99, on sale from $49.99, come in several flavor options, and are available in Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains.  While there’s no discount for repeat purchases or monthly subscriptions, there are pop-up windows that offer additional discounts like 10% off your total order.

The softgels were about the size of an Advil Liqui-gel, if not a little smaller. The softgel was yellow and clear, and felt squishy as I rolled in between my thumb and index finger. I always like to squeeze the softgels to see how difficult they are to pop. These softgels were very resistant to very firm pressure and did not explode. The label stated that the softgels contained 30mg of Delta-8 THC per softgel, which is more than the traditional 25mg Delta-8 THC content of other edibles and capsules.

The cartridges are about the length of your thumb and are extremely slim. The liquid within was a dark yellow, similar to dark olive oil. The consistency was extremely thick and sludgy. I don’t recommend leaving the cartridge on its side, as it will take a few seconds for the liquid to settle at the bottom of the cartridge tube. The cartridge contains one gram of 97% THC and is a hybrid blend. If you don’t have a pen-style vaporizer, there’s a little tab underneath the product listing that you can purchase one for $12.99. I appreciated this option so much that I got one and will review it in the upcoming reviews.

If you’re taking Delta-8 THC for the first time, you should try one of these if you have a few hours to kill and won’t need to operate machinery or vehicles during that time. Taking more than one of these capsules can result in overwhelming sleepiness and lethargy, so stick with just one softgel per sitting. We’ll go over the product’s packaging later on in this review, but for now, let’s check out the actual product and its effects!

Delta-8 THC Softgel Product Review

Due to the small size of the softgels, this was a very easy product to consume. I popped a softgel in my mouth and washed it down with a swig of water. I noted that there was no flavor or aftertaste once I had swallowed. I took the softgel at around 10:30 PM and began to feel the effects in a mere thirty minutes.

The high began gently and intensified over the next hour and a half, resulting in a full blown mind and body high. I noticed that my eyes felt very heavy and I had difficulty keeping them fully open, resulting in a slight squinting. My eyes also got more bloodshot throughout the high, giving me the appearance of rabbit eyes. I felt a light pressure on my sinuses and felt very relaxed and euphoric. I was still able to remain in control throughout the high, which lasted for several hours until I fell asleep. For a tiny softgel, this particular Delta-8 THC product gave me a very enjoyable high.

Because of their high Delta-8 THC content, I would recommend these softgels to users who have already experienced a Delta-8 THC high with other products. The high from Delta-8 THC can vary with several factors, including previous exposure to Delta-9 THC, weight, height, age, etc. If you’re taking Delta-8 THC for the first time, you may feel drowsiness or lethargy if you take too strong of a dose. You should consult with your primary care physician if you’re starting a Delta-8 THC routine for the first time.

Delta-8 THC Cartridge Product Review

I screwed the cartridge onto the pen-style device that supported a 510 threaded connection. I loved how the pen and the cartridge were similar in slimness, making it look like one unit. I turned on the device and proceeded to take my first hit. I deeply inhaled for about 10 seconds, exhaled partially, took a breath of air, and exhaled fully. This helped prevent me from an intense coughing fit, and I could appreciate the flavor more. The cartridge oil tasted like hemp with a faint citrus sweetness. It was slightly bitter, and left a very faint burning sensation in the back of my throat. I noted the time and was delighted to feel the effects kick in around 3-4 minutes. The high left me feeling euphoric and relaxed. Since it was a hybrid blend, I noticed that while my eyelids did feel heavy, I didn’t feel couch-locked or sleepy. I recommend using this at night before bed if you’re trying it for the first time, just to see how your body reacts to the hybrid blend.

Lab tests are expensive, and the fact that D8 THC Shop tests every single one of their products is quite impressive. I appreciated the painstaking organization it took to create drop-down menus for the hemp, Delta-8 THC, and CBD products. Hemp Information

All of the hemp used by D8 THC shop is grown locally in an Oregon hemp farm and is not lab-synthesized. Their flowers, cartridges, and tinctures are naturally sourced from organic hemp and is processed in a US-based manufacturing plant that keeps their hemp products 100% America based. This dedication to high quality shows that the D8 THC shop cares more about their customers than the potential profits that could come from outsourcing.

Product Packaging – Softgels

The 5-pack came in a small pouch that was clear in the front to showcase the size and color of the softgels. A single circular sticker on the front showed a large “D8” in the center, with the company website listed underneath the large D8. The back of the pouch showcased more information, such as the product name, quantity, mg per softgel, and the company website. There was a QR code that, when scanned, will take you directly to the company website. While the package clearly stated the serving size and servings per container, there was no specified kick-in time or expiration date on the package. Softgels are usually expected to work within an hour after consumption, but I would have liked to see something that explained how long the high would last and how long it would take to kick in. Expiration dates aren’t that common on Delta-8 THC products either, and most capsules/softgels have a 1-year expiration date after production.

The ingredients list was very simple: palm-derived MCT oil, tapio starch, and 100% hemp-derived Delta-8 THC. The packaging itself was very plain, perfect for minimalists. There were no bright colors or bold fonts, just simple wording and no nonsense. Lastly, the back of the label stated that the softgels were gluten free, vegan, non-GMO, and made in the USA.

The package itself gave me no trouble to open and was small enough to slip into a jacket pocket or small bag without becoming a nuisance. This product delivered a powerful high and I truly enjoyed the experience, but there was nothing remarkable about the packaging.

Product Packaging – Pineapple Express Cartridge

The cartridge came packaged in a hard plastic case that required scissors to open. The front of the package showed the company name, product type, and flavor. The packaging displayed the amount of oil in the cartridge as well as the Delta-8 THC content. On the back of the package, there was the customary warnings on who should use this product, when not to use the product, and the company manufacturing information. A QR code on the back redirects the user to the company website, where you can view the Lab Results, other Delta-8 THC products, and more about the company. There was no expiration date or expected reaction time listed, but most cartridges start to act within minutes of the first puff. This cartridge was a unique experience that I highly recommend to any user who doesn’t want to wait several hours before experiencing the mind and body high.

D8 THC Shop delivered a high-quality Delta-8 THC product that was so easy to use but powerful to experience. Their website showcases a fascinating assortment of Delta-8 THC products such as cartridges, pre-rolls, edibles, vape juice, flowers, and so much more. The company website had a very plain feel to it, but after clicking on several products, it was obvious that careful time and consideration was taken to build this website. There was so much information stuffed into the product descriptions, blogs, and site pages. I also appreciated that the site focused on Delta-8 THC products, but also offered rare CBG products along with popular CBD items. The name D8 THC Shop was a little off-putting at first, as I wasn’t sure if they only sold Delta-8 THC products, but all it took was light browsing to discover the sheer volume of products available on this site. I very much enjoyed the high from the Delta-8 THC softgels and the cartridge, and I look forward to trying other Delta-8 THC products on their site.
