  1. My dog scratches the ground whether she pees or poos. After each, she always has to go back and sniff the produced fragrance. 🙄🤔 She is 14 now and is still very destructive to my yard! When she was younger she used to scratch very close to the spot. As an old dog she now sometimes gets memory loss or something and forgets to scratch close to her pee or poo spot and walks away. When she remembers, whether it's 5ft or 15ft away, she scratches away. It's funny to watch. Also she likes to celebrate a poo and take off running fast around the yard, like a victory lap. Then she looks up to see if we're watching her. She is a little show off and quite proud of herself. It's sure a good thing humans don't have the urge to smell it, scratch the ground and run laps after we go. Now that would be funny!😂

  2. So glad Molly doesn’t do this, couldn’t imagine the mud i’d have to clean off her paws in rainy weather. Dr. Jones Molly is almost 14 and her hips are getting bad, am I making them worse by taking her for walks or letting her climb our steps several times a day? Just not sure if trying to keep her active is or is not a good idea. & also when I cook steaks is her sense of smell on alert like a starving human’s is??

  3. Funny thanks. I think my older dog does it cause we praised her so much for being a good girl and going outside. Now the new one is kicking when she does her bathroom where she is supposed to. Neurotic? Maybe but then again there are lots of weirder neurosis. Lol. Thanks again for all you do.

  4. Yep!!!!! Def marking territory. Especially if another dog does it. Peeing last longer than marking. Sometimes we may think they are deficating and it’s not really poop but oils he is eliminating. They really aren’t digging or scratching but stimulating the oils in their pads to leave it in the area. lol

  5. Only🐕lovers can appreciate this video. Even female dogs exhibit this behavior especially if there are 2 or more dogs living together, as in my now departed loved chihuahua mix & a terrier. Size doesn't seem to matter. The males can be very aggressive in this marking, scenting behavior, but we humans wonder "why". Tulia & Maverick r so cute.😘

  6. My 5yr old Yellow Lab has never scratched the grass after doing his business. Neither did my Black Lab…nor did any of our previous dogs. They never lifted their leg to pee, either. All male dogs and labs.

  7. I have a question about your supplement does it have all the vitamins that my dog need thank you I hope you come back to me like calcium and Omega-3 the rest of the vitamins

  8. I NEED UR help!!! My DR says my DUKE. , my 13 yr old wonderful SHIH TZU. Vet says his liver is failing . I bought denamarir & give it in a LOT. Of the. PILL POCTETS. He HATES THE PRESCRIBED DOG FOOD SO IM DOING SOMETHINH

  9. My doggie Bagsy used to do that when he legs were strong..not anymore. He’s old now and recovering from a spinal stroke so he’s too fragile to do anything as aggressive as scratching..😢
But he was covert funny when he was doing it..I just had to stand at the right side so he wouldn’t kick soil in my shoes!😅

  10. A little Shit/Malt we look after occasionally does this all the time and as dramatic as Maverick. Our Labrador did occasionally, as well as our shepsky. Our shepsky has another puzzling behaviour I am still curious about. She punches her food with her nose, then scoots her nose as if to push it. We joke that she is testing to see if it is dead or not. She came from a reserve at about 3 mos. and did this right from the start.

  11. We have a maltese rescue that does this when pooping and also turns in clockwise circles when moving from one room to the other, most of the time. She doesn't like to go out, doesn't like to do much but eat and be with my wife and I. Shes physically healthy, probably 8 or 9 yrs old and is house trained very well. She was at a dog pound when we got her and we know absolutely nothing about her past. She's almost impossible to groom. Can you recommend a animal/dog behavioralist?
    Thank you

  12. I have a senior Dachshund rescue that Mark's in the house. He can be out most of the day and do it as soon as he comes in. When I catch him I correct him and put him out. Mostly he is sneaky and I don't catch him. Any suggestions other than creating? My husband says no crate. My other Dachshund never does this and never has. My last guy didn't either.

  13. I loved your demo! Lol! All of the dogs you present are so well behaved! 😀 None of our previous dogs ever did this but our current dog does it almost every time. It used to be only after pooping but now it's with both. We've taken it as a sign that, okay…he's done, time to come into the house. Lol! But he now does it on walks as well. I wondered if it could be a territorial thing? It kind of makes sense that this dog does it as he was a rescue that had been abandoned more than once before we adopted him. Our previous dogs we adopted as puppies where we were their only family. One of my cats has his own way of claiming dominance too, when he uses the litter box, he seldom if ever covers his business. 🙂
