  1. Thank you – I have just spent almost 2K on Vet then ER visit for severely infected cyst on English Mastiff (luckily we have great dog Health Insurance to pay most of it) since Thursday but he is in bad shape still. I think I will try the witch hazel to clean the area because they said to get waterless shampoo but we couldn't find any last night after finishing with ER but I believe the Witch Hazel with Aloe would be the same but better because of the anti-inflammatory & anti-bacterial properties it has. I am going to start treating all his cysts because he is very prone to them to try to prevent what just happened. He still isn't out of the woods yet – his leg is super swollen still but the infection is draining & he is on pain, anti-inflammatory & antibiotic meds but we have to do labwork to ensure the antibiotic is the right one to kill the infection inside the cyst still which will take another couple of days to ensure he is even taking the right meds. I've been so scared because he is so very sick.

  2. I'm thankful – dmso workd on my Shih Tzus cyst! I usually try to drain them by squeezing, and she doesn't seem t mind it but this one was a little bigger and more resistant – I tried squeezing, to no avail, tried the hot compresses and added dmso and it was soon oozing and gone within a couple of days. As it healed I kept adding the stuff. I tried keeping it "wet" to let it drain easier, but a big scab the size of a quarter has now taken over where the raised cyst was. I cant tell if there is cyst material under it, because it is sensitive when I touch her there.
Q: Should I be doing something to discourage cyst return there as it heals ? like keep adding DMSO or witch hazel, or just leave it alone to run its healing course. I was going to bathe her today and I'm wondering if I should avoid the area or include it.

  3. Can any of these be used for the fatty growths older dogs develop. My 15 yr Chihuahua had surgery and 2 removed, now he has 2 more and I'm hesitant to put him through surgery again. Thank you Dr Jones for helping us all with our fur babies.

  4. My girl has a small cyst on her back and it burst on Mon. I cleaned it, soaked up the blood and put veterinary powder on it. I noticed it was starting to fill up and surely enough it burst today again! The bleeding did stop a lot quicker and there was a lot less blood. I've ordered up witch hazel, castor oil and dsmo because she does have a bigger one just under her chest. She's almost 13 and doing great for a German shepherd her age. What's a little bit of extra care? She had the beginning of a yeast infection under her front legs, used anti fungal wipes and coconut oil. Less than a week and there's no more smell or dark, flaky skin. Natural is the way to go before consulting a vet for minor ailments. Thanks so much for these videos

  5. My dog had a lump above left leg, vet said was a cyst. Two days later it popped open & drained for 2-3 days, she keeps licking & all fur is gone from area. I’m putting Neosporin on area w/ a q tip. Okay I will use witch hazel to help dry it up.

  6. Well you did not even show it worked. So why would we run out to get this stuff that is not cheap. Before and atfter clips would sure help. And what it to prevent your dog from licking it all off?

  7. Hey I liked your video good info. I have a Neopalitan Mastif and she has the interdigital cyst and I find that it gets inflamed when it's cold outside. I live in Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 and this is on her paw the bump is in-between the toes, you know the webbing, also the bottom of her paw is red. This is embarrassing to say but I love my dog and feed her, walk her and love her, she is a big dog but she lives inside, so I was hoping maybe you could help me wit a little advise, I'm not a computer Wiz but could we trade email addresses and I could take a picture and send it threw email and ish I kno how to do that. Pls could u or any1 help out wit info, Thanks. Sorry 4 long msg

  8. I’ve used castor oil & a hot compress together on cysts on 2 dogs. Word of warning – they’re gross when they rupture and don’t always follow a timeline. For both, I didn’t think it was working and gave up, then out of the blue one day it popped.

  9. Can you use this on a cyst that has already "burst". My GSD has fibroadnexal hamartomas all over her body. Every month or so one bursts and we end up at the vet with a very costly round of antibiotics. Would love to try a holistic approach. Thank you.
