  1. I believe standard poodles are sensitive especially if they’re black I wish that you would talk about putting ice on their feet, I have them lay my big ice pack Down and make my dog lay on it after a big walk and of course it’s after dark but it’s still very humid

  2. Hello Dr jones, today I walked my dog in the park for 20-30 min n he got a heatstroke. I took him to the emergency cuz his tongue went purple black and he had a hard time breathing. they put him under oxygen n care n I brought him back home. but the emergency Dr said he can get kidney, brain, heart failure!!! I gave him a nice bath and he is playing and totally fine. I wanted to know what are your thoughts? Do I need to show him to his own doctor tomorrow or what steps I should take. Please advice. Thank You.

  3. We are so blessed to have your advice Dr. Jones! My 17 year old "Spike" shih tzu absolutely adores you! (And Tula!) Oh and just FYI – I can never get your website to load to download the book! Clicking the link just brings me to a white screen page and then it just stays like that.

  4. I just learned, from my sister-in-law who is a dog breeder, that she swabbed rubbing alcohol (& alternative-nail polish remover) onto the pads of her puppy. This cooled the puppy down, quickly, after he had been accidentally forgotten in a hot suv. Almost died, but the rubbing alcohol rubbed onto the dog’s paw pads cooled and revived her little pup. It works. Sad story with a happy ending.

  5. Mine dog won’t ever get over heated cause he comes inside to the ac all the time. He gets inside whenever he wants, he’s spoiled rotten. Plus he’s a rough collie so I make sure he’s not baking due to that double coat. Spraying feet and belly with cool water from garden hose works good.

  6. I spray semi cold water on my dogs paws, arm pits, outer ear, and back. If he gets too warm or hot I give him a semi barely cold shower because I don't want to shock him with cold water. He has CHF so I gotta be carefull. This worked for me when tge heat wave hit last weekend.

  7. It's scary awful what's going with the record breaking heat wave in your area(Vancouver BC)and the Pacific Northwest. I live in Texas and we haven't had those temperatures yet… It's been unusually mild so far, temperature wise, but we've had high indexes.
I'm so sorry for what you're going through. You've never experienced anything like this before. My cats scare me because they don't drink enough water sometimes, so my vet has me keep subq fluids at home. Thank goodness! They'd rather bake in a sunny window all day if I don't watch them. I wipe them down and the ceiling fans cool them. I've got water everywhere in the house and fountains too.
    Much love Dr. Andrew,
Hope you all get relief soon. ❤🌧

  8. Doctor, my dog's hind legs don't feel anything. I can't walk. It's 1 year old. It's been like this for over 2 months now. There are no good doctors in Laos. The doctor can recommend some treatment.

  9. Dear Dr. Jones, you mentioned to take care specially about young, older, pregnant……what about black coated dogs like Thula, don't they get hot more easily?
    I'm very concerned about her.

  10. Dr. Jones, you are a guardian angel advocate for fur babies all over the world and I sincerely thank you. I am so grateful for the info and help you provide through your educational videos and your book. Do you think your book will ever be available in print for purchase? It's such a great reference guide…
