  1. Thank you so much sir I was too much panic after cutting my pet rabbit nail it was bleeding fortunately I searched YouTube and saw your vedio.. I applied tea bag .thank God its works… God bless you sir.

  2. Just went through this like an hour ago. I clipped a nail too far and blood everywhere. My whole family freaked out. I luckily found this video and applied a gauze pad to the nail while my niece gave the dog treats while he was laid down. It wasn't easy. He's a rowdy 3 year old. Luckily, I also have super clot gel for pets. I applied it along with constant pressure until the bleeding stopped. I'm gonna take him to the vet tomorrow, just in case. What a horrible experience. 😩

  3. I did this once and it was enough. I felt just horrible and a bad dog mom/clumsy and incompetent. I now realize that the Safari clippers I was using were actually dulled and were crushing the nail instead of clipping it. I thought they were a good brand after researching them. Instead, I tried a cheap pair of clippers that came in a grooming kit and they worked so much better. Also, I learned to just snip a bit at a time and my pup doesn't mind the clipping anymore. Whew!

  4. Thank you for this ❤️ accidentally got my little one. She went to get away right as I clipped and I guess it pushed past the guard. Scared me so bad, but some flour, treats, and love will make it better. I used to do this for her all the time, I won’t be doing it again. This makes the second time she has fought and made me clip her short.

  5. Thank you, doc. This is very helpful. I sent my dog for a groom and it's her first time. I felt bad her toe was bleeding. I believe they put like a powder at the pet parlor for it to stop bleeding and it did. However, when we came home, she started scratching her nails and it bled a lot. I was so worried. I'm just glad my mom is here to assist me. ❤️ And thank you doc for this additional information. I learned something new. 🐾

  6. What makes me so angry is that vets don’t find creative ways to help animals. They don’t think outside of the box. A young girl at pet smart told me, in order to keep my dogs nails short, to find a way to glue down some soft sandpaper, and using a laser pointer or a flashlight, point the laser/flashlight on & around the sandpaper so the dog will chase after it and thereby shorten his nails. This may not work for every dog, but it was a brilliant suggestion and it will work for my dog!!! Pshhhh, it was suggested that I take him to a vet everytime he needs his nails clipped & under sedation. No way! And this is why people need to get more creative. Where there’s a will there’s a way. Do you think I want to get my dog sedated once a month or once every other month or even more often? Crazy!

  7. I have a 7 year old, 16 lb. dog who has never had overgrown nails due to our travertine floors that we have at home. We use a laser or flashlight to have him run all over for exercise but apparently this has always kept his nails short. Because of inactivity and for the first time, his nails grew longer than they should have, but not crazy long. After a very recent traumatic experience with a pinky right, back hind leg that was breaking off at the base, he ended up needing sedation just to remove the nail and ending up breaking off a total of four additional nails in the process. Even though I muzzled him, the vet after examining him stated he will not let anyone touch him. My dog has gone from two seizures per year to having about seven seizures last year. Because of this, I didn’t want to have him sedated, but had no choice. He wasn’t able to walk on his right hind leg due to the pinky toe breaking/cracking off at the base. Somehow during the examination, which was very short, he broke off another toenail the vet explained!? So I consented for the sedation, but when I came back to pick him up 7.5 hrs. later. The vet told me on top of the original problem nail he had torn off an additional four more nails exclamation!? It makes me really wonder what the hell did they do and why can’t they find a better way to handle this dog. What a traumatic experience for my dog. I can’t even imagine him having to go in for anything major.

  8. I just trimmed my dogs nail about 1.5 mm too far, and within a minute there was blood all over the floor wherever he walked his paws. It was just from one nail. I felt so bad 😞

  9. Wow I didn’t even think about how scary it must be to cut a cats toenails or claws thanks for the video I just made my dogs nail bleed by cutting it and needed some help so thank you very much

  10. Ty. We had a ouchie tonight on our new puppy with black nails. She barely moved but I cried. The flour was the only thing we had on hand and it worked! Toilet paper, flour and pressure did the trick. Ty again. 🐶❤️

  11. I accidently did this to my dog once as she kept moving her head around blocking my view but hey I never owned these, I just used 6 wet paper towels and sudocrem and it stopped within 2 hours. It was a pain but I still managed to stop it
