I've use DE but never taken dog a bath after 24hrs… then I apply it again in a week or 2… I even dust outside where she goes potty… thank You Dr. Hope I receive a reply.. thank You so much You are such a Blessing 💞
My friend went through a whole house infestation and got rid of all of them relatively easily even though he had 4 cats: 1. With a good vacuum, go for it 2x a day making sure to concentrate on the floor and floorboards. Empty the vacuum bag into a plastic bag out on the middle of the street and take a hot shower when you have returned inside your house. 2. Mop up with a light bleach solution EVERYWHERE you can. (a stressor) 3. A low bowl with detergent water mix with a light over it as a heat and light source in every room. They jump right in. 4. Pure food grade diatomaceous earth on furniture, baseboards and as the Dr stated, directly onto puppy or kitty. YOU must treat all animals in the home! I also used top quality flea treatment from the vet onto pets. 5. I used the most popular bug spray product in the gallon size around the baseboards only. Spray NOT aerosol. 6. Washed and dried everything every other day. 7. Took pets OUT of the home and turned the dehumidifier to HIGH as well as the heater to 90' F for 24 hours on Monday and again on Thursday. Fleas were gone in 1 week, found 2 strays that were too weak to even jump on the 15 and 16th day. None on animals… 8. FLEAS WERE DELIVERED TO HIS HOME VIA AN INTERNET PET FOOD COMPANY ! BE CAREFUL AND LOOK AT THE PACKAGING INSIDE AND OUT BEFORE YOU TAKE ANY PRODUCTS INSIDE YOUR HOME ! A pain in the rear end…

When the Diatomaceous Earth hits the moisture in your nose or mouth, it's no longer "Dangerous". Of course, it was never dangerous to begin with. I use a paint brush to apply it to my GSP. She loves in! The next day I rub her down with olive oil. The dog loves it, the fleas hate it.
You probably won’t ever get to read this. However. I am wanting to know how to prevent fleas. Not waiting until my dog gets them. Hopefully using this earth product will prevent. Thanks for this wonderful information.
I have 2 8 week old kittens. We rescued them from being abandoned outside by mommy cat. They have fleas we used the frontline plus on them and they didn’t scratch at all anymore. And their eyes have been watering but they aren’t red or swollen or anything, just watering. Is this okay to use around the house for them? Thanks so much for your help!
I use Diatomaceous Earth on all my animals. Including my chickens, Ducks and Geese! Their dust bath. I clean my chicken house and sprinkle it everywhere, especially in the nesting boxes. I put DE in with the chicken's feed too. I also put it in my cat's food and dog's food. It works on carpets too, leave it on for 24 hours, then vacuum.
I've used DE on my chickens, ducks & for ants but never thought to use it on my dogs. Great idea. DE is wonderful. I've never lost a chicken or duck from DE. If your worried about them ingesting it make sure to have fresh water available, its safe for humans to use as drink.
I baught two kilo of this very cheap on ebay equl to price of 4 months of spot on treatment. To my surprise two kilo is a huge amount. The secret is use a little regular. Using to much will dry your dogs skin out. It can be given in your dogs food to kill internal parasites also.

I have a lg bag of this. My dog always throws up the flea pill. I’m doing this today.
Why not just lesving the powder on Tula instead of a bath?

Can this be used for cats
When your dog moves in the bed or coach wouldn’t it create a dust cloud ?
But what about after the bath? What if flea's reinvest right afterwards. What do we need do then as a preventative?

Once you stop seeing fleas. How many days should you continue using the diatomaceous earth for?

Oh, does water make DE ineffective?

What about baking soda? Would it have the same effect?
I added to their food. Thought I learned that here.

Can this Diatomaceous powder be made into a spray by diluting with water and spraying it on your dog, instead of using it as a powder on your dog?

Tuila's is the perfect model
I was using Apple cider vinegar mixed with tea tree oil and water in a spray, seems to work to, is that okay to use?
That's what I use. Good to hear it from a vet who cares about the dog more than the dollar.🐕
