My old dog had some serious splits over the years buy they were cuts due to sharp items on the beach etc and luckily they healed really fast especially with a drop of superglue. My new dog is always cutting his pads. It's a nightmare and one of the splits is over a year old. No autoimmune disease but it's crazy bad. They don't bleed or slow him down but they flare up in the summer months. He runs almost exclusively on grass and I apply mushers balm daily. In fact I weekly will apply a giant dose of mushers and wrap in cling film so the lions share of the balm has time to soak in.
rick Simson the real inventor of CBD oil said in an interview once that you cant take the thc out of the cbd oil as it wont work. he treated 100's of people with cancer and cured them with the thc it reacts to the body 1000X better than no thc .as he explained it relaxes the cells for better absorption.
I love your videos! I made a rub for my dog that has itchy paws tonight. I was looking at videos while it cools and saw this one. I used coconut oil, a little avocado oil, vitamin e and cbd. Then I infused it with chamomile tea (I think… lol. I assume that putting tea bags in warm oil will infuse it). I might get some lanolin and maybe some shea butter to add later. I will be testing what I have once it cools. Thanks for all your info!
I have a bit of Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Is that ok to use? (It's summer in my country, so I don't really use it now) My Rosie's feets were always soft, but now the dryness is scary
** Bless you Dr Jones , you did have a video for dry dog foot care moisturizing having Tulla teach us , * I just knew Look in your video archives and I would find the help my dog needed 🙂 Lovely Thank you again Tulla an Dr Jones:)
I have a Paw-Nail question I hope you can address for me. I have a Chihuahua that grows out her nails quickly. Both back paws grow a pinky nail that curls back into the paw. Should I keep trying to get it cut back before it reaches the pad (which is hard to do at times) or should I get them surgically removed? I don't want to do anything that would cause long lasting pain. or throw off her balance and ability to maneuver. I could use any helpful tips possible for my dog's long term care.
Doctor, do you think putting treatments on the paw pads would cause a system overload and cause heavy panting? Elderly sweetie with hyperkeratosis trimmed pads-treated with bag balm-panting 5 minutes after. Emu oil-panting 5 minutes after. Wrapped in a breathable plastic bag attached lightly with a velcro strap. jojoba oil application-no reaction. Coconut oil-no reaction. Is this a coincidence maybe or have you ever heard of a dog reacting negatively to an oil application to their paws?
Thank you so very much Dr Jones❗🧐 My Royal Poodle, scraped his paws, playing at the beach on barnacles. I just ordered Lanolin. Do you have anything for sale or link to Amazon? When I order, I'd like you to benefit❗🐶🤗
I knew Coconut oil would come up in this it's brilliant for getting rid off dry flakey skin and black skin infections I also use a horse cut infection spray for any nick or cuts its called purple spray and is the best thing to use for cuts in my opinion really speed's up the healing process this guy is one of my go to channels he's always been right and think it's awesome that he is helping people to learn how to look after your animals without having to spend a load of money on anti biotics and creams that I don't think will work as good as the natural stuff but obviously there are times when your dog will need antibiotics but it's not always the way doctors are the same just give you tablets all the time 🙄 respect to you sir 👊 your not like the majority of vetinary practicioners who care more about money so would never tell you these natural remedies 😉👍
That's lanolin oil, still good though, its likely diluted slightly, pure lanolin is thicker than Vaseline and probably the best skin treatment available, coconut oil, cocoa butter and Shea butter are all very useful too
I use coconut oil on myself after a shower and lightly on my dogs paws and fur, just a tiny amount goes a long long way

How many times per week should i apply coconut oil on my dog?
Cracked pads 🦴🐶🐕🦺
Do cracked pads cause there pads to swell
My dogs licked the Vaseline from their pads. Cannot stop them. Is it safe for them to lick?

Can I use these same products if his paws are peeling?
how about hyperkeratosis or blad spots on dogs paw?
can dogs get calluses on the bony parts of the paws?
Thank you for this video my poor pooch hurt his pad yesterday 🐕
Does anyone know which coconut oil did he use and where can I get it and does it really work????
Thankyou
Pawpaw for pore paws! Lanolin sounds worth a try though. Pawpaw relieves pain but doesn't fix problem! Great on cuts on the pads though!
Please sort the auto focus out on your camera. It's giving me head aches

Thanks for the great tips!! with this Califonia heat my pups pads are a bit ruff
I was thinking of using coconut oil on my 5 yr old min pin chihuahua mix.
But how does one keep her from leaving oily marks all over the place? Or is that the "sacrifice" I'll have to make?
