  1. They need to implement this in animal shelters. I didnt have a choice they spayed my puppy at 13 wks… shes also a large breed..this was sad to hear and now ive got to look forward to my dog having serious health problems later on..

  2. Yes. I’ve been saying this for years. They need to go through secondary sexual maturity changes to reach their full growth and maturity . I comforted my cat through her first and only heat. It was challenging, but we got through it, massaging her, cat ni, lots of cuddles, and lower back pressure points for the episodes of “passionate longing”. It would last a moment while I was pressing. Then she would stop and roll around in playful relief.

  3. We neutered our first Lab at the age of 3 after our vet kept hounding us, and the dog still tore both of his ACLs. The 2. we didn’t neuter at all, and had no issues. I wouldn’t ever neuter or spay. If you are worried about unwanted offspring why not do a vasectomy? For females a would definitely do a hysterectomy, but leave the ovaries. It’s better that way. Hormones are important. Don’t mess with them.

  4. We have a big strong GS that we adopted at 9 months. He's had a rough start and we didn't want him going through that after watching another GS go through it. It's brutal and it's a major operation. We decided due to his exceptional look and brawn we're going to invest training, love and time into him and he'll have puppies later on. We even met another owner with a GS female and our big guy has a suitable mate that he goes to the park with. We were told to do this surgery bc of the medical industrial complex whose only concern is $ not the health of people or animals. Hopefully, people can take the necessary steps to protect their animals and do what's best for them. Thanks doc. Bless you and your family. And Thanks for tips and great suggestions you give us. 😊

  5. Well that would explain why my Cheweenie got lymphoma since he was neutered when he was only four month 's old. He was from a shelter so that was their policy then but I'm sure they have changed their policy now.

  6. I don’t spay or neuter, only bc it changes ur dog, messing up their system, then they end up on a pill bc they start having hormone problems, the the pill has side effects and well then ur dog gets fat with diabetes then you’re putting them on a pill for that and then they end up dying earlier than what they should. My German Shepard is the healthiest dog I have ever had. She eats raw and we don’t do vaxx. My vet says she’s healthiest dog she’s ever seen. We did bloodwork and everything to make sure she was healthy. I do it once a year.
This is what works for me and my house hold.
Oh and by far less vet visits once a yr. Just to do a check up, love my vet

  7. We have our fourth Golden. The other 3 I spayed around 6 months. After my sons informed me and research I did myself, after many joint problems, we waited on this one. She will be 2 in April and I’m debating waiting 1 more year.

  8. Apparently the definition of sexual maturity is "the ability to reproduce". Since dogs and cats can technically come into heat and get pregnant around 6 months old, isn't that "sexually mature"? I've had many, many pets and have never had issues with spaying or neutering around 6 months old. To each their own though. Just please don't let your unfixed pet reproduce indiscriminately.

  9. I wanted to wait , I waited until 16 months because he was literally hurting me. I'm in my 60s, and he was so wild with me as far as even slightly aggressive.. he is extremely healthy and fed very healthy. I pray he will be fine. I'm getting a female in 10 days, " Boston Terrier, which I'll have 2 as my boy is now 18 months old .. I will wait as long as I can with my new female.

  10. I agree. But for me i had no choice. I just adopted a dog at my local 🎉humane society but they spay/neuter the dogs befor you can take them home. I understand why they do it to ensure it gets done due to pet overpopulation. My new dog is about six or seven months old.

  11. That is exactly correct. The vets from overseas when I lived there told me the same thing. For my case it was dogs. They don't agree with fixing dogs while they are puppies which is traditionally done in the US. If you can stand it wait a while, especially for male dogs, but I don't remember why.

  12. I didn't want a puppy and I wanted my puppy to be social. So when I got her at 8 months, I got her spayed.
You are now saying I should have waited and not have her socialize with other dogs? She loved playing with others, especially male dogs. It would have been a mess without her not being spayed.

  13. I think we need more investigation i dont advise spaying or nuetering unless you plan to leave them in the wild or get rid of them to an irresponsible owner which should never happen but who knows this world sucks sometimes but even then i feel bad 😮😢

  14. I’m against it completely. Especially for giant breeds. I think it is not a correct assessment that the dog would get cancer if not spayed or neutered. Which is supposedly the main reason for the procedure.
