I think my fur baby does way too much licking; my husband's response is "he's being a dog". He also feels we can't run him to the vet for every little thing the way we ran to the pediatrician with our human babies. H E L P❗
Thank you so very much. I have been making my dogs food the way you suggested. He loves it and after four weeks his skin is so much better. We have also been spraying him with tea and vinegar. 😄 Plus baths. If my dog could say Thank you Dr. I'm sure he would.
I spray "ouchie" medicine on my dog when he chews up his back, and then put his helmet/lampshade on for about 30 minutes. It usually dries up his hot spot … until he finds another spot🤦♀️
( forgot … "Ouchie" medicine is hydrogen peroxide – spray a light mist, or apply with a soaked cotton ball. He walks over when I ask if he wants "ouchie" medicine.)
I worry about vinegar burning their skin…food grade diatomaceous earth is something me and all my critters enjoy to keep well regulated and it does stop yeast. I do cat rescue and de has literally turned a few of the worse off cats right around. It's a miracle. Helps with my gut issues too. I had severe cdiff and nearly died in 2019 but this with turmeric and probiotics saved my life. Bless you for dedicating your life to the four leggeds 🙂
Echinacea and goldenseal works really well also. For people and for dogs. Powerful stuff. I give my little doggies half a mixed capsule 2 times a day for 7 days. Helps alot with doggy allergies too.

Could you use miconazole?
Would that be good for felines too?

That's an easy enough fix, thanks Doc.

Very interesting. I have a 21 year old cat who is healthy but has licked all the fur off of his belly. I wonder if that would be the same problem.

What about spraying it on their feet and ears
