So the US does slaughter horses, just not for meat directly. They ship horses to Canada and the EU to be slaughtered for meat. The US does slaughter perfectly good animals when they are surrendered or seized just because they can't re-home them. The US also rounds up wild horses to kill. No country is immune to these atrocities.
