  1. Those that don’t know the history shanti took the white widow to mr. Nice seeds and named it black widow same as white rhino , greenhouse don’t have the p1 line so it’s all fake IMO

  2. Why do people rely on the Netherlands for high grade weed? UK grown weed is way better, Amsterdam weed is DEAD always has been. IMO of course, but I’ve been Amsterdam many times and the only strain I ever enjoyed smoking there was cookies, and I still get better cookies in the uk 😆 what I mean is, strains shouldn’t be classed as over rated just because they’ve been bought and tried in Netherlands, it should be overall by proper growers, cali growers, pro uk growers, not some bs tourist weed

  3. White widow is actually a pretty good strain. If you get organic grown ww it is actually pretty tasty too and nicely balanced effects. Maybe it is not the strongest. so what. It is just a nice creative hybrid for if you still like to do some shit.

I tried some of the west coast bullshit, like platinum cookies, purple punch, blue berry kush. I can tell you that i had better tasting white widows and hazes. I normally go for a haze but if they are out i will happily take the white widow home with me.

  4. Got to comment and defend Northern Lights, I grew the Lights of late 80's early 90's and you could not get better, smell wasn't great with it's whiff of Cowshit/Silage. But as soon as you smoked it your mouth and throat were awash with a dense beautifully smooth and cream tasting smoke with a hint of fruity black hash on the exhale and boy did it hit you hard in both brain and body. The problem with the NL around today is, it was so severely neglected by the seedbanks in the rush to create new strains, and had no real investment of time or money to maintain the breed. The original NL was very temperamental to grow and would hermy on you, refuse to finish, foxtail etc, etc, unless conditions were perfect. The strain sold as NL today smokes with little resemblance to the original. Another point to make is that almost all modern strains owe a large portion of their genetics to Northern Lights alongside the Afghan No1 and Durban which have all suffered the same fate and been degenerated as the breeders ( Dutch especially) have invested their time money and hype into the next big thing.
I would agree with you on the Widow thing, it was hyped for commercial reasons being easy to grow, photogenic, yielded well and on time even when neglected, a very average smoke from the beginning.

  5. I personally have a bit of a problem with the strain "Runtz". It's so overhyped, surely if the strain is perfect for your style of growin, you'll get pretty good stuff. But in my opinion, you better go with some old school DP PowerPlant 🤷😋

  6. The uk strawberry skittles is nice but the high isn’t good it just leaves you with couch lock lol , back then I think Nothern lights would of probably been how flavours are now or even cali but obviously now there’s so many more stronger strains , white widow was good back then but now it’s basically nothing lol I agree with you the old ones are past there time now

  7. i thik with nordern lights it is same lake with haze, if you can get the right seed to pop of or the right clone you got some realy realy realy damn good stuff but if you don´t can get that you will got crap out of it and not the real experience… sorry my english is damn bad 😀

  8. nordern lights ist still today one of the best and strongest strains i ever have get and see but in one thing you are right maybe 10% of my stand could be cause of i grow up with it and it is a part of nostalgic for me….bur it is how it is i love it 😀 ….greetings from germany

  9. I am watching this in 2022. Still holds up! I am Olde school. I have to agree with what you said about NL and WW. At the time, we had (here in the Eastern US) we had high grade commercial bud at best. Imported Mexican crap… full of seeds and sticks. If you were lucky it was green. Then along came the Canadian Beasters. Just terrible at best. Along comes Northern Lights and White Widow which were locally grown and consistent. Game changer. Was it worth all the hype? Same category as real Acapulco Gold…. better then what was around.

  10. To be honest, northern lights gets only so much hype, because ist is very easy to grow and very resilient for cold weather and pests. So idk if it is „Overhyped“ but I think it’s just popular because it’s so easy to grow.

  11. I agree with all of them except for northern lights, Northern lights may not be the tastiest strain; but it is very useful for medical use, it is one of the smoothest hitting buds and has a very relaxing high great for pain
