  1. A very helpful video but on a related note, why do my dogs make the sounds during elevated excitement? Typically this occurs when I come home from shopping errands. Thank you!

  5. My Berner does it sometimes. The first time it happened I was freaked out and started comforting him. He doesn't do it that often but Ive realized he has allergies to quite a few things. Household cleaning products and fragrances really bothered him so I don't use those things in my home. Try to keep it chemical free as much as possible

  6. My dog.was constantly doing this while drooling, turns out it was a type of epileptic disorder. He was put on phenobarbital & potassium bromide & it put a stop to it 100%.

  7. My dog would do the reverse sneezing from time to time, thank goodness for youtube, that’s where I learned it was reverse sneeze. it never lasted long and she was fine afterwards

  8. For a few years my dog would lose her hair in spots, looked awful, took her to the Vet, they said i bathed her to much, sold me a special shampoo/conditioner, never helped. Took her to the Vet the next year, they said the same thing, he gave her an allergy shot, never did any good. Next year, her hair started falling out, i thought the pollen was thick on everything and maybe she’s allergic to the maple pollen. So I quit taking her around them til we could get them cut. Her hair never fell out again.

  9. Winston is sooooo cute!!! Older dogs, sigh, tug at my heartstrings. I've got 6 dogs, beagle-ish to Retriever-ish sized, all ages, all rescues. Whenever there's a problem, I go thru Dr Jones videos and 9/10 times find a solution. Our lives would be so different if it weren't for our Dr Jones! Affordable, safe, natural (as possible). Thank you!

  10. My dog has been occasionally doing this and my sister said it was a “reverse sneeze”. I never knew it was a real thing , but I’m happy to know he’s okay :)! Thank you as always for the great content Dr. Jones!

  11. Hi there Andrew, my little Havanesa (Bichon) I thought had tracheal collapse…..now I'm not so sure. My Vet thought I was describing the reverse sneeze but it always sounds like she is struggling to breathe. It happens when she is anxious or I want her to do something she doesn't want to do. What is it?

  12. Yorkies do it all the time. I close one nostril at a time and he has now twigged that I'm helping him and snorts out. I also rub his nose on the pressure points on the side and on the top is his head over his eyes. It is seasonal and happens every Spring with him.

  13. I watched a video of a dog where his human passed away & the dog got so upset he started reverse sneezing, he looked to be crying at the same time. So sad, I was crying right along with the grieving pup.
