  3. Thank you for this great piece of advice. It’s why I’ve been following you for a long long time. You have avoided a few trips to the vet n saved me peace of mind and $$ . I see how you love your animals and I’ feel a lot better watching this educational video, to us pet’s owner. Knowledgeable, educated and professional information. It makes us pets parents relieve to know this. So many people freaking out and even if I don’t watch tv , except for Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime n YouTube ; some way, some how I get the alarming ( 🚨) messages n concerns, to a point that I find myself diagnosing myself n walking around with a magnifying glass to the “ Freeze type exam on my dog” lol . I know it’s serious and we must prevent any virus and the best way… washing hands . With or without virus breakouts; I constantly clean door knobs, lights switches, alarm n thermostat devices. In other words, all around the house and on a regular basis. I also take a spray bottle, add rubbing alcohol n tea tree and go all around the house , to spray it for precautions. I do have a lower immune system and I’m always careful. Wipe shopping carts, refrigerator handle and keep Clorox wipes n hand sanitizer by my door. So, I do take daily measurements, n no, I’m not paranoid.just cautious all year around . It doesn’t hurt, right? Once again Dr. thank you for your information, time, love for animals and commitment to our pets. Love love your channel!!!! A+ topics.

  4. On the news they stated a dog in Hong Kong has tested positive for having a "low dose" of the coronavirus. They said they are not sure if the dog is carrying the virus in his/her mouth/nose and have no evidence of how the a dog could contract the virus. They have the dog under quarantine and are supposedly going to run further tests.

  5. Your video must be shown showed on local tv. Rational, logic not like conventional media who spread fear. I feel so sad for all the pets who're separated from their owners in affected areas. Keep it up and thank you.

  6. Does cold kill the virus? I live in Alaska. I’m 70 & in heart failure. I have a respirator mask. The only place I go is to the doctor, worst place! I have a large fenced yard for my babies. I think we’re doing the best we can. Thank you so much for your continued education.

  7. Hi Andrew, thanks for being the voice of reason. True about the masks, and I wonder even more how all these people in China walking around with not even the mask your showing but the flimsy surgical masks (only designed to stop fluid sprays) think they have any protection, Bizarre! The only think I would say about the video is in relation to hand washing. You put soap into dry hands before washing. I work in the NHS (infection sciences lab) but all NHS staff have to show competency in hand washing. The correct way is to wet hands 1st before applying soap then rub all over hands, paying attention to nails, fingers and thumbs as many people just rub their palms together and this is not enough, good that you say wash for 20+seconds.

  8. Is corona virus the same as FIP in cats? My friend just text me that her cat was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and corona virus/FIP. I went to you for TRUTH! She wouldn't lie , so maybe the vet was wrong? She also said the vet told her that her other cats probably have Corona virus and said it's also called FIP. I'm scientifically interested but not paranoid lol I have only been subscribed to your channel for a few weeks. Have you done a video on FIP? I volunteer at my local shelter and am always super interested in the medical stuff.

I really hate fake news they are reporting this virus to put fear in people and to get them to spend money for prevention..Please just wash your hands ..use layers of tissue if your going to sneeze or cough then wash your hands .Also if you do have a cold or illness disinfect areas in your home .

  15. You are by-far the most balanced presenter of this virus. Thank you for having a brain in the midst of wild assumptions and unreasonable panic. However, I do believe it can kill the elderly who are compromised with already existing conditions and illnesses. With good medical care and common sense, these deaths can be minimal.

  28. Every single person on the face of the earth has access to the most information available about virus and how people get it. It is called your cell phone and home computer or a computer at the library or some other public place. Why more people don't know this common remedial good information is something I find sad and unbelievable. Thank you Dr. Jones for pointing out something that everyone should know but most are just ignorant of.

  31. Something I’ve always wondered … you can get sick by touching a contaminated object and then touching your mouth, nose and I assume your eyes but what about an open sore? Can you get sick from contamination through an open sore? I’m thinking of a regular cold or flu … something like that.

  32. I am so glad you have put my mind at rest. I was really worried about my fur babies contracting this. Thanks for all the information Dr. Jones. On another note regarding all the so called "information" on social media. Just get the facts from WHO themselves. No need to panic, just be well informed and take all the necessary precautions.

  34. In my culture, people think the cold is what causes flu/flu like symptoms so they'll close all windows in public places – which makes us all sick! People will even get aggressive in the bus when you secretly try to open up a window, they'll scream 'are you trying to make us all sick?'. What can you say to these ignorant people! It's also time that humans realize that animal agriculture is the cause of so much illness, environmental damage, animal abuse …

  36. Some yrs ago my friend was the first case of Norwalk virus in our area. The hpspital (she was rushed in twice for rehydration) thought she has an alcoholic because she vomitted the lining of her stomach. I went to help her out because she was too weak to look after her pets, a few cats and a big dog, who all had the same symptoms she had had: throwing up, diarrhea, misery in general. Her big dog was so sick he wouldn't even drink water (we found out later on the stomach acid had burned the inside of his mouth). He's ask to go out and I could ser him seeking relief in the snow as he was hurting at both ends. And the cats were going through their own hell in the basement. My question is How is this possible? I would never have believed it had I not seen it with my own eyes.

  37. Um, it is highly suspect that this virus Wuhan Noble virus escaped from the bio lab in Wuhan, where they study SARS & other deadly viruses. There's an article back in '17 that says that our U.S. experts warned that the safety of the Wuhan lab was concerning & basically not safe.
    So, snakebite? Maybe NOT!
    That government has never been good to it's own people. Some of my favorite people were Chinese immigrants and have become good, long- time U.S. citizens. This angers much that the Chinese gov is so terrible to their own people!

  42. I think that handwashing is something that people don't do enough and friction is most important. Also under the nails where yucky things linger. My son has a friend with lupus and chews his nails,I say bad boy.

  43. China government is to stupid to learn from this outbreak hope their leaders hang and the people take their country back. Killing your pets and putting blame onto them is not the way we need global animal welfare and rights, I don't care what happens to their economy or people so long as they as throwing pets on the streets or off buildings.

  44. I normally absolutely love your videos I am so appreciative of all that you do and all that you teach us. This video however I disagree with almost completely. Would you like to explain why our government is bringing US citizens home from China and immediately quarantining them? Would you please tell me why China has a minimum of 50 million people quarantined. Could you please tell me why our White House has declared the coronavirus 2019 a national health emergency? There are numerous countries that have blocked off Their borders to not let people from China in. Numerous airports have stopped flights to or from China. I could go on but I won’t none of this has ever gone on because of the flu. This is extremely contagious highly Fatal i’m at a loss for words please do your research all of you who have seen this.   45. Thanks for your video. I'll keep wearing my mask. If it blocks "some" particles that's good enough for me. People should be washing her hands regularly anyway. People waited for the virus to start washing their hands.
