Back in April, we reviewed a delicious Delta-8 THC gummy from a company called 3Chi. We discovered that chi is the Japanese symbol for “spiritual energy” or “life force,” something that is crucial to your health and overall wellbeing. When high levels of stress and overwhelming negativity force their way into your mind, it’s important to incorporate products into your daily routine that can help you relax and refocus on what’s really important: you! The company 3Chi eagerly looks for ways to do just that, by creating a variety of products that utilize many cannabinoids from the hemp plant (CBD, CBG, CBN, Delta-8 THC, etc.). Their delicious gummies did take quite a while to kick in (a whopping three hours!), but the flavor and powerful effects made it worth the wait. Oils and extracts usually work much faster than that, so let’s dive right into our review of 3Chi’s enhanced oil!
DELTA-8 THC ENHANCED OIL
Hemp tinctures and extracts have a wide variety of uses and can be incorporated into foodstuffs and beverages for a seamless method of consumption. However, with Delta-8 THC extracts, it’s best to release the oil sublingually (under your tongue). The bioavailability increases tremendously using this method, and delivers a fast-acting high that you’ll enjoy for hours.
The 3Chi Enhanced Oil is sold on the company website in three options: 300mg, 600mg, and 1200mg. I selected the 600mg, which goes for $24.99. The site has a wealth of information on how to use the product, product notes, and an in-depth product description. The site warns that while the 30mL bottle may look like a bottle of vape juice, it should not be vaped and is designed for consumption via the screw-off dropper. One thing that I noticed is there is no recommended serving size. Since Delta-8 THC affects each user differently, you should start off with half of the dropper, and gradually increase your dosage until you are comfortable. You shouldn’t drive or operate machinery while under the influence of a Delta-8 THC high, and ensure that this product is legal for use within your state. Always consult a doctor before you consume Delta-8 THC for the first time, and keep stored out of reach of underage users. While refrigeration is recommended to extend the life of the tincture, it’s not required. Now that we’ve gone over the preliminaries, let’s check out the actual tincture.
Product Review
The tincture comes in a 30mL ceramic bottle that is painted completely black. The bottle was sealed with a childproof cap, but this was easily unscrewed. The dropper was graduated to allow the user to gauge how much to use. The liquid was completely clear and very oily. When I held the bottle to my nose, I detected a faint citrus scent with a light hemp smell.
I measured out a full 1mL and released the dropper under my tongue. I didn’t notice any flavor once it was under my tongue, and noticed that the liquid was easy to keep under my tongue for about 90 seconds. Once I swallowed the tincture, that’s when the strong flavor of hemp overwhelmed my senses. I noted a slimy coating on my teeth and tongue, which is normal for most Delta-8 THC products. I noted the time and figured that it would be several hours for the tincture to kick in. However, I began to feel the effects a little over an hour after my initial dose. My eyes got heavy and I felt sleepy and relaxed. My mouth was slightly dry and I felt a heightened sensitivity in my fingers and feet. I felt a delicious euphoria and sank into a blissful high that lasted for several hours. I fell asleep and awoke feeling refreshed and rested. However, I did notice that there was a lingering high that remained. I still felt groggy and was very thirsty. This happens to me occasionally so while I can’t say it detracted from my overall experience, I would have preferred the high to have been completely finished when I woke up.
Keep in mind that the Delta-8 THC effects and side effects will vary per person. Your weight, metabolism, age, and other factors play an important role in how your body reacts to this semi-psychoactive cannabinoid. Some users can enjoy the high during the day, while others prefer to take Delta-8 THC products at night to aid with relaxation and sleep. Whatever time you prefer to take your Delta-8 THC products, make sure you’re in a safe and comfortable environment where you can enjoy the high to the fullest extent. The ingredients list is very simple: hemp extract, natural terpenes, medium chain triglycerides (MCT), vitamin E. The product’s packaging is very simple yet concise, delivering just the amount of information necessary to enjoy the tincture without getting bogged down with too much information. If you’re wanting more information, you can always head to the 3Chi website and read through a plethora of information to your heart’s content.
CONCLUSION
3Chi is a unique company in that it doesn’t just focus on Delta-8 THC or CBD products. Instead, 3Chi brings all the cannabinoids together in unique products that truly enhance your hemp experience. Their products include the traditional line of products like tinctures and oils, gummies, and vapes, but also offers isolates, concentrates, and baked edibles like cookies, cereal treats, and brownies.
