In my experience, the good vet don't overcharge you. Our doctor refuse to get fee when he realized that the cat won't survive and i m just visiting him to in hope to safe my dying cat. Finally i listened to him and got my cat euthanize. But he didn't take fee 3,4 days… Even euthanize was free.. Just took money for injections
Happen to me I took my dog for shots and while in exam room. Vet said oh let me clip your dogs claws real quick they look a little long.i said ok and went to pay on the bill they charged me 65 for pedicure. Fyckers
I second, 3rd, 4th etc that emotion. Dr Jones, I have been watching your channel since 2018, I don't rely in anyone else, only your advice. The reason for that, is your recommendations have literally saved my pets. For example, my dog Maleck, escaped ended up @ the Kennel, he had kennel Cough, your Natural herb medicine slippery elm, raw organic Honey & organic green tea cured and saved him, plus my dog Gwen and cat Whackamo who also got kennel Cough. Thank you, I can not afford a vet.
We live in Northern Ontario. We have a wonderful vet clinic.Howrver they have a $40 charge for a prescription if you want to take it to the drug store. They do not over vaccinate for that I am thankful.
You are one of the few honest and trustworthy veterinarians out there. I know you have to make a living too, but the fact that you're willing to share these details says a lot about you. God bless you!
We have pet rats and I’ve finally taken their care into my own hands. Why? Because the majority of exotic pet that’s that I’ve seen in my area will not even give an inch of extra help or support without it costing me a fortune. What I mean by this is if I have a contagious rat and I know that the others in the group might be impacted by their illness, they won’t give me a little bit of extra meds or advice as to how to protect them. They insist I bring all of them in, which would cost me thousands of dollars. It’s ridiculous. I finally started doing research and now I buy my own antibiotics for them via feed stores. I have been able to help them overcome illnesses several times over the last couple of years without a vet’s help. I realize that sometimes vets are necessary but they are a last resort now.
So my dog had an infection from a dog bite, the vet had no time to see her, but if I paid for an emergency visit , they could see her. 🙃 Really? She could have died. I was really mad
My step-dad was a veterinarian. He told me many years ago that there are two (2) types of vets. 1) those who are in it for the money; or 2) those who are in it for he love of the animals. I worked at a vet hospital as a second job. The vet hospital was in a high cost living area. They loved the animals but charged based on the area where they were located (Sacramento, California). Loved those vets.
In my area, all except one vet out of about 20 vets) has been bought out by a corporation and is being run by money grabbing veterinarians who bound together to control vet services in our area. The one owner-operated vet clinic is closed to new clients due to an influx of clients fleeing the other vet clinics. Those corporate run clinics charge horrific prices and really lay on the services so as to charge as much as possible. "The upsell" is being forced on a lot of those patients. The greed is off the charts not only in veterinarian services but across the board everywhere in the US. Small groups seems to be determined to own the rights to all services, business, etc and drive up prices. These should all be seriously looked at — are they monopolies and trusts that break the law? We've been thru this before with a handful of men coming to own a whole slice of the market. That's when laws were enacted to stop it. So why is no one acting to stop it?
I wish here in IL. I wished they didn't need the Rabies shot every year or every 3 years,(3yrs is what I do). My one Cavapoo girl gets sick, vomits and diarrhea the vet has to give her meds for it. The other Cavapoo does OK {but I hate having them to have those shots} and I asked my vet about a titer test for the one who gets sick, he said no it has to be serious side effect in order not to get the shots, well isn't vomiting about every hour and having diarrhea serious. I think these rabies shots are just a money making machine!

Rare to find an honest vet. Subscribed!
Vets are as bad as MDs
There's little use for them these days
Just dont vaccinate your dog and dont feed them foods with GRAINS and they will be FINE
👍
Thank you for really caring about the animals welfare instead of the money! Awesome tips!
How clip biting dog nails
Just LOVE those " laid back" dogs in the videos!!!

So one vaccine is going to give my dog life long immunity and I never need to give another vaccine after getting the first set of shots?
