  1. Ive been giving ibuprofen to my dog for yrs as i was told by several different veterinarians ive seen in person that neurofen which is ibuprofen is safe to give to dogs.

  2. Dr. Jones, thank you for this info. I gave my dog a baby aspirin once, and an allergy pill with Benedryl when he got stung in the face by a hornet because he was swelling up and breathing funny. Both times human meds served their purpose, but I would never use them on a regular basis.
My 8-year-old male dog used to have a Mastiff-type head, but in the past 3 months, it has changed shape, and become almost pointed. He stopped eating all dry dog food, so now I create moist food for all three dogs. This has worked, but he has lost weight. There is a strange sound he makes when eating. I checked his teeth, but he doesn't like his mouth being opened and pulls away. Yesterday he quit eating completely. I don't have transportation or money for a vet bill, and I don't want to lose my friend. When my Mom suffered a stroke, it was his unusual bark that alerted me and saved her life, so he has a special place in my heart. I just came across something called Temporomandibular disorder and dogs can be affected. There is a very short video showing how to massage his jaw, but it doesn't show much. I tried the massage and he seemed to lean into it, so maybe this will help. Could his mishappen skull be putting pressure on his jaw? Do you have any info you can share on this, please?

  3. I regularly freak out seeing "home remedies" recommended especially on forums like Facebook. People claim to have pulled their pup through parvo with brandy and egg, and other crazy toxic things. I think their dogs and cats lived despite, not because of what they gave.

  4. I have used Pepto Bismol for pups with Parvo and it has cured them. You can find a dye free one but the dosage is actually miniscule. Usually .05 micro gram in a super skinny syringe meant for insulin is enough for an adult dog and half that for a puppy. Ive had no issue and have saved many lives with it.

  5. Thank you for this review and update. I did not know that Pepto-Bismol was a problem. I was doing fine till we got to number seven. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and passion to continuing to educate pet owners. You are a blessing.

  6. I'm glad you didn't mention paracetamol…just gave my dog one 3rd of a pill for pain releif after I was unable to find arnica or licorice in town….I managed to get some turmeric creme but I don't think it's gonna be effective really…a bit synthetic…but anyway, she's sleeping now…keeping her tied up whilst we wait for the ear pinna to start reducing in size.
Thanks for yr vid, really helpful as I'm in a small village in India and I don't speak much hindi.

  7. My pug sound basalt when she’s sleeping. And she is also coughing and then sounds like she is coughing a hair ball. Can dogs cough from post nasal drip and what can I do to help with the congestion?

  8. It’s surprising that people would even want to give any human medication to their pets. My doctor does NOT recommend taking, or using, any of those medications on a human let alone on a pet. I always look up side effects, even on prescription medication!

  9. Can you do a video on cats my big male cat was relatively vibrant playing with a smaller cat and chasing other cats but now close to 2 months he's sick not doing anything has pink eyes seems stressful to jump of bed …he's not getting better and thankfully not worse so far at least he eats and drinks his milk whenever I feed him twice a day .. someone told me my cat is old and busy dying…I suspect he might have gotten internal injury although is not walking with a limb

  10. A desperate need of a response sorry but I have a question Dr. Jones. What causes a collapse lung in dogs especially senior chihuahuas? I have been going to the vet for my 10 yr old chihuahua the first time she had a dry coughand they gave me medication for that after blood work and xray was done. And went back for a follow up they have told me that one of her lungs has collapse and they have put her on medication called Prednisone and Clavamox the Dr told me that if that does not help to put her down. Since I can't afford the 1500 dollar mri scan.

  11. Question: Allivet sells gallon size jugs of Bismuth for $22. The active ingredient is "Bismuth Subsalicylate".
What difference is there in the Allivet product and current Pepto-Bismol (active ingredient is "Bismuth Subsalicylate")?

  12. Dr. Jones thank you for education us about our cats and dogs health. Most recently after my 17 year old Sis'ta Spice "Sissy" began sneezing like crazy. Your video with recommendations for cats really helped her get better. Thankfully none of our other four cats became ill.

  13. Dear Doctor, thank you for your advices, demonstrated on patiently listening, lovely Tula.
You did many videos on herbal remedies one can give our pets ( for example kennel cough) , it's worthy to have a look there!

  14. Doc, I would really, really appreciate if you do a video on Trazadone. The kennels I take my Lola to will not give it because they said it affects their personality. My vet keeps prescribing it before her appts because she is very anxious, but it makes her symptoms worse. They also want me to give her 300mg. of Gabapentin, which had NO affect on her.
Today, because of her uti, I was supposed, which I did, give my baby 300mg. Gab., and 200 of Trazadone, plus 3gm. of Melatonin. She then received an injection to calm her down, and it did not work! She was still anxious and fairly alert.!!!!!!!!!!!
