  1. So far I’ve confirmed fish allergy, once I took fish from diet the vomiting stopped immediately. I have a sneaking suspicion he’s allergic to chicken too, because he’s itching, more so now than ever. Will omega 3 fish oil trigger the fish allergy? Should I be giving him algae omega 3 (plant based) instead?
And if it is a chicken allergy, then won’t turkey and duck cause symptoms?

  2. Have you ever seen allergies get progressively worse? My girl has had them for nearly 5 years, and what used to just be scratching and an occasional red irritation around her eyes has turned into swelling around her mouth and neck.

We are taking her in for an allergen test next week and an appointment with a dermatologist in June :/

  3. After a few years of our black cat scratching himself bald on his shoulders or stomach and paying for treatments that didn't work, we finally saw a locum vet who suggested putting a jacket on him No pills, no treatment, just the jacket. It had to be kept on for 14 days.
I was doubtful it would wirk. but it did! I was sorry to see the jacket come off as he looked so smart in it. This was back in June 2019 and we have not had another bout of him scratching fur off until his skin bleeds. Cost? £17 for the jacket …worth every penny. We now have a cat aged almost 18 with beautiful black fur and no more bald patches.

  5. Help 😿 My cat has lung infection, took him to vet he got 2 injections, anti-inflammatory and penicilin, he got better quick, Next day he started on antibiotics, cifrofloxin, but after 5 days he’s back to being sick, breathing badly and not eating. I’m very worried. Should I just stop the antibiotics?
I didn’t see any video on lung infections treatment, please make one.

  7. Is fanciclovir safe for a diabetic cat? My vet prescribed my old cat it, she started throwing up and having diarrhea. She’s just been sneezing A LOT. No discharge around the nose or eyes. Is it a guarantee that it’s feline herpes?
    Thanks in advance! 🙂

  10. I wonder if a turkey-protein source really would work with cats that are allergic to chicken.
I've worked at a veterinary practice specialising in dermatology, so yes: Allergies are everywhere. I just remember there was a dog once that was suspected to be allergic to beef, so the owners asked whether they could give the dog Bison and my chef said she would risk it as the proteins are too similar… and I'm slightly worried about turkey and chicken like that, too.

  11. May I suggest that if people want to use diatomaceous earth, buy it from livestock business. And it must be 100% food grade!

It is half the price of that small bag, that dr. Andrew showed. The bag at the livestock outfit, store, is a 40 lb bag. This would last you more than a lifetime, but there is so much more that you can do with this diatomaceous earth. Go in with a friend, share the bag. I would not pay the gougers for that small bag, which is roughly $75 in Canada.

Dr. Andrew, if you are one of the so said gougers, delete my comment. I don't know for some reason I'd give you my money.

  12. Do you have any videos about rat ulcers or mouth ulcers in cats? Our cat is allergic to fleas, plastic and additives in lots of foods. Her gums get inflamed. She gets a steroid shot and antibiotics but I'd love if there was something I could do at home. We've been eliminating many things but sometimes it still happens. Thank you so much 😊

  13. Our little female Taj started excessively grooming herself at the age of 12 where she was pulling out her fur on all 4 legs, her haunches and tummy. She was nearly bald. The vet ran a bunch of tests and couldn't find a definitive cause and ultimately diagnosed her with feline senility. She was given a Rx medication for stress but after 2 weeks we saw no improvement. On top of the over grooming, she also wasn't eating well as she was freaked out all the time as if she was being stalked. I started giving her Bach's Rescue Remedy for pets and within 4 days she had calmed down and by the end of 2 weeks she was an entirely different cat. The excessive grooming stopped and her fur grew back. She also became very cuddly with headbutting and talking constantly. 🙂 I kept her on a maintenance dose for the rest of her life, she lived to be 18.

  14. thank you so much dr jones i already been doing the omega 3 everyday i don't see any fleas on them they got it from the flea treatment i used on them called zodiac but i will try the melatonin i hope it helps my cats one of them are really bad with the hair loss most of her back she lost all her hair and a couple of they others are not as bad again thank you dr jones

  15. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge about cats, I have 19 of them and costs a fortune going to our vet. I try my best to feed them wet food with kefir combined once a day which really helps.

  16. Another thing that works on fleas and is natural, and hopefully Kitty is not allergic, is Cedar chips. We used them in pillowcases when we had our "cat house" in Tennessee. What an adventure 🤣.
    Thanks Doc! And Murray!
