  1. Growing up i wanted to be JIM and HK. Those dudes were legends to me. Filmed in 07 id watch baker 3 weekly at school. He got clean and showcased how much skating could be a salvation from lifes BS. Dudes like Greco and Reynolds and their cautionary tale history were perfect figures to keep me from thinking about the party life. They were living examples of what REAL cool G's were. Just destroying spots local to me that id see in person and imagine them in their leather jackets XD Just like DAMN. Theres never going to be an era like that again. 13:06 Still to this day blows my mind and his knee tuck…such a god damn nonchalant style for the level of skating he was putting out. Even HK did one in mind field YEARS later. 14:34 Stuck with me most when i watched this for the first time on vice. Never lose what youve always had the loves always been there everyone dont shy away from the ppl in your life and that board/park/spot

  2. I went to a skate demo at active in Temecula and ill never 4get he was there and he signed his Budweiser can I was highly pissed years later when my mom told me she put it in the recycling bin

  3. Always struck me as a sort of method actor in a way, embodies these characters and makes iconic product in the process. Little cringe looking back on that era now can’t lie😂

  4. one of the most interesting dudes on baker at that time and still just as interesting now. this could've been an hour long. it'd be so cool if they could somehow follow up on this cause jim is still the same dude just a little wiser.

  5. Johnny thunders was a great songwriter, but his life and struggles are the ultimate cautionary tale .. heroin use shits on your talents and flushes them down a toilet.

    Hope Jim is still clean

    RIP Prince
    RIP Jimmy Webb

  6. I'm pretty sure Jim Greco forced VICE to remove or heavily re-edit this vid when it was originally released. It wasn't on the offical VICE channel for years and I remember someone else had uploaded it after it was taken down.
