  1. I have formed an opinion on cover crops in pots. The benifit is that it feeds the microbes and keeps them alive.You may get a crop of micro greens. But it wont put any significant carbon in the soil if its just sitting on top as a mulch . The mulch will suck nitrogen out of the soil. It works if you can till it in and let it decompose but that takes months. I just vermicost everything and top dress with an abutment free source of worm castings. The roots of a cover crop are good for air and water ratio but will probably have less nutrients left in the soil.
