Every chef from NY uses challah for their French toast and I love it but it can be hard to find in a lot of places. I actually use French bread for mine and cut it on a thick bias. The crust still has some chew to it and you can soak it in the custard mixture longer without it falling apart.
also, generally, love the edits to these videos. most cooking shows take themselves too seriously or too stupidly. this is the perfect balance, plus seeing everyone behind the scenes is great.

Everyone always says set the oven to "about 375" it's an oven. It goes to exactly that temperature lol
