  1. I believe there IS a correlation….My healthy 2yr old Old English Sheepdog was fine until after about a year on grain-free kibble …when we ran him in play he started coughing hard after a short time running … this went on for months, when I thought it might be contributed to the grain free food we took him off and started him on kibble with grains… The coughing cleared up and he no longer has a coughing problem and he was out of breath when he ran hard… I am convinced it was due to the food

  2. I feed raw goat, mixed vegetables and pumpkin. He is glucose intolerant and unable to digest fat. I also feed my cats raw chicken ( bones and organs). Coats are wonderful most importantly for the cats teeth are tarter free. Their breath has improved a sign that mouth hygiene is better.

  3. What I've been saying this whole time. The fact that vets were sounding the alarm with NO conclusive evidence was so disappointing; aren't they supposed to be medical professionals? Any vet that promoted GF=death will NEVER get a cent from me.

  4. I had 2 dogs on grain free their entire lives. They both ended up with significant heart murmurs before dying of cancer (suspect from Apoquel). I wish I knew what I was doing wrong. Sticking with foods on The Truth About Pet Food list now. No idea if it will help, but I just don't know what else to do.

  5. Rhetorical question coming… “What did people do before dry dog food was invented?” My real question is, “Do dogs actually need to eat dry kibble or is it just yet another convenience devised to do nothing more than make us spend more money? Do our dogs really benefit from dry kibble, or are we kidding ourselves?”

  6. Re:. Dog muzzle at home to make one,. Wow, you are a genius, what a great idea, so thankful you showed this to us as my dog will never let me cut his nails and they grew long that he hurts himself when he scratches near his ear or eye. I hate supermarket foods, even ones for sensitive skin do not help so much corn even, gluten, etc, most likely GMO also. So outrageous.
Thanks again. This will be a lifesaver for me to do to get the necessary job done, all with your helping hand, and video.

  7. This study didn't look specifically at peas and lentils but only at "grain-free" as a whole!
However, a study published in Nature showed a statistically significant correlation between peas and lentils & DCM.
("Investigation of diets associated with dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs using foodomics analysis").

  8. I want to make my puppy homemade food but I'm stuck on finding a bone replacement supplement that has the proper calcium to phosphorus ratio, any idea would help a lot.

  9. Thanks so much Dr. Jones. I really appreciate this follow up. I feed a mix of foods(raw, dehydrated, canned and kibble) but have used grain free for many years with dogs living over 15 years and that's Rottweilers! To me grain is far worse.

  10. My dog is and has been on the OC RAW chicken sliders and Raw Beef Tripe diet!!! This food has been a literal life saver for him! ..and both obviously Grain-Free. He also takes Milk Thistle & Marshmallow Herb tincture 🐶💙

As a Veterinary Texhnician we’ve had nothing but Grain-Free is BAD ingrained in our brains for years! Too bad the FDA & MVMA aren’t correct about everything..

  11. I've been watching your videos for a while now. I've learnt alot from you thankyou.
This isn't related to dogs, but cats. I've breed and shown my for 22 years, ive been considering a raw diet. My question is, would my cat's, have a balanced diet, just eating mice, and a few good quality biscuit. Hoping you will reply thanks

  12. Hi, I had an abdomen ultrasound done on my 9 yo male oe bulldog. It says urinary bladder is thin walled and moderately distended. Can you tell me what it means and if I should be concerned? I didn’t see this until I got the report. The vet didn’t say anything about it. Thanks.

  13. I have been feeding my border collie grain free dog food for 8 years because he is gluten intolerant and will scratch for weeks otherwise. He is now over 16 and looks younger. I think that is good proof of going grain free. When Max became mine, he was in bad shape both physically and spiritually. He's been a healthy happy dog for 7.5 years.

  14. If my dog eats grains he gets a large swollen pouch just under his neck between his front legs. Once I stop the grains it goes away. So now I only give him peas sparingly and that's only because he enjoys them so much.

  15. Side note: my 10-year-old dog had developed terrible breath and once I began making his food and not feeding him kibble or any processed dog food..grain free only…his breath is as sweet as can be. Coincidence? I think not! LOL

  16. I don't believe a word that they say! I make my dog's food just like you showed us. He's 10 years old and acts like a puppy. I'm sure that part of it is due to using your Canine Supplement! Thank you and God bless. 💜

  17. With so many companies covering their butts, and officials on payrolls they shouldn't be on, I don't trust any new reports that say "nothing to see here."
