  1. Hearts broken today, my german shepherd somehow broke my min pins leg. Surgery to fix her leg would have been between 5-8 thousand. With prices that high, we couldn't afford that. So we had 2 options, amputation for 1500 (plus all the other fees) or to say goodbye. We can bring her home tomorrow but I will forever live with the guilt knowing if i could have afforded it, my girl would still have her leg. She will be 13 on May 10th. I hope she adjusts at her age..

  2. can you tell me of the percentage of dogs that have Phantom Leg Dyndrome t hat have their leg, especially a back leg removed? My rescue dog has Acral granuloma, due to trauma from a car accident, the according to a neurologist vet specialist, the dog feels pins and needles, like a leg falling asleep, and he chews his leg. The bones in the leg also did not heal well, they healed crooked. Pharmaceuticals would be very expensive for me or another person, I live in southern Mexico, but I have a fear of him having ghost leg syndrome. Any help, or studies you would recommend?

  3. OMG I have the same cancer. I never thought of an animal having it. I had it in my right ulna. they went in removed the cartilage tumor Pined and used bone cement. I have had it removed from near the my hands. I still have a tumor in my leg. I am able to walk pretty good some days not so good. The Doctors could not guarantee I would have use of my leg if they removed it so I have not had the surgery for that one. Figured as long as I can use it leave it be till necessary. I go for regular scans and as long as it is not growing or spreading I can wait.

  4. Hi Doc. I have watched several of your videos. I want to give you a huge Thank you. My 14yr old shih tzu has been having a rough time getting around. I have to help him up and down the porch steps. He doesnt have much energy, struggles to get up and looks all around miserable.
That is until you came around. In a few of your videos you mention natural anti inflammatories. I have been giving him tumeric, flax seed oil, pro biotics, and fish oil. I mix it in with his wet food every night for the last 2 weeks and he is like a brand new dog. He is running and playing and barking out the window l. He acts like he is 5 again.
Thank you souch for helping my little buddy. You have truly helped him.. He is so happy again.

  5. Andrew can you or any of your family advise me on how to treat dog allergies. My french bulldog has gone off his food and is constantly scratching. Vet wanted to give him aquilin but I've heard so many bad reports about this medicine. Thanks 😊😊

  6. For my opinion, I wouldn't recommend it because of putting the weight on the other hip.,large dog are likely to have bad hip. Other that the fact I have known too many of my friends who tried this and their dog suffered and fail around and the cancer moved to the entire body. Which caused more heart aches. I always had my checked out to make sure there was no hope before I sent my pet to Rainbow Bridge. Of course it's everyone own choice on how they feel. Thank you..

  8. Years ago my daughter carried a cat down the stairs only to have the cat jump out of her arms. True story or not the cat broke he shoulder. Her leg was amputated and she still to this day functions as a normal cat.

  9. Thanks; beautiful Dog!! My options fr. Vet 3 years ago were # drug for balance of life; amputation…….if it is bone cancer ……. of three poss. conditions, our MAX was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in his elbow, due to an injury sustained during the first 9 months of his puppy life with former owner. Former owner apparently had no vet care for this injury, so it 'healed' on it's own. I noticed the limp after walking and other exercise, especially Lab Retriever activity which is never ending…….so now what? O.K. I am thankful that he is not cancerous, or with dysplahsia, sorry can't spell! So, after six months on the drug to treat inflammation and pain, I stopped. Instead he gets, green lipped mussel and lots of supps of Fish Oil, Chondrotin, MSM, and a few others. I plan to start with Curcumin as well. I am grateful that green lipped mussel is available. And, the jittery condition that came from the drug therapy which was metacam liquid, as the pill gave him diarrhea…. is gone. We are happy, we are well enough. He loves his kiddie pool, loves his walks, loves his frisbee and his ball and would chase and retrieve them endlessly. We monitor his activities. So, it is all good. Blessings to all you dog and cat owners out there and to you Doc. We surely appreciate you.
