  1. Hi! Please help, I'm desperate right now. My big guy had to get his eye removed a year ago due to dry eye, he developed an ulcer while he was recovering at the vet due to another major operation (PU) he was there for 6 nights. Prior to this, he was getting Optimmune ointment and nemyicin (spelling) but not sure if they followed up everyday, I was giving it to him as prescribed twice a day, but 3 days after coming home he was in noticeable pain, took him in and they said it was an emergency and needed to get his eye removed due to an ulcer.. now his other eye has been developing a lot of discharge, took him in today, they did a tear production test with the strip and it didn't turn blue, hes not producing any tears fur to dry eye 💔 they prescribed him another ointment (forgot the name, its at home and I'm at work right now) he's had it twice so far, can I start him on castor oil? And can I give it to him mid day in between his ointment? Also, can you let me know exactly which one to buy, because most are saying to keep away from eyes. Can you also let me know the specific name of the CBD? And the third product (NAC) can I give that to my dog if he has cysteine stones. He had to get a surgery due to cysteine stones, they rerouted his urethra because he kept getting stones/crystals. Hes been through so much, my poor guy! I'm so desperate please help me.

  2. 12 y.o. dog with kcs. we treat [2 years] with tacrolimus early am, shortly there after opticxare, mid am opt., later opt., dinner neomycin & pollmyx, at bed opt. again. he is losing his sigh. we are DESPERATE. seen 3 specialists. live is san antonio. $$ is no object.

  3. My dog has dry eye (0% tears) and has just started optimmune (3 days ago). I use viskyal to lubricate his eye every 3 hours thru the day but he still has a lot of green mucus that I can't seem to wipe away from his eye (i've tried tea bags but he squints and the mucus remains). #1 how can i clear the mucus safetly and #2 can i switch to your remedies at the same time as continuing the optimmune? Indeed, can I use all 3 of your remedies simultaneously? and could I do that at the same time as continuing optimmune? Im desperate to help the little guy.

  4. My 4yr old GS has dry eye. He is on 3 prescriptions. If it's an auto immune disease would testing for allergies potentially help? From a human standpoint point t if we eat things that we don't have the enzymes to break down it can affect us in odd ways… my brain won't stop thinking this is my next step.. even if I can't reverse the damage I can maybe stop more from happening… I will go and buy castor oil. Thanks

  6. Only day 3, but the NAC is a MIRACLE. We just moved to NM and it’s very dusty. Our puppy has been having dry eye ever seen we got here. Since giving him the NAC… NOTHING WOW

  7. I bought organic castor oil today to try for my dogs eyes as he's been pawing at them lately and I've a noticed a lot of snotty, mucus discharge in his eyes. I want to but the bottle says…for external use only, avoid contact with eyes. Please advise…

  8. Thank you, Dr. Jones for this very informative information. My ShihTzu has dry eye, and the optimmune is 58.00! I can get through Chewy for 47.00! And you are right. It doesn't last even 3 weeks! Very frustrating.
    I like the CBD and / or Castor oil.
    I will be trying either one.

  10. God Bless you for this – people ned to know as well with the castor oil it must be hexane free organic and cold pressed— it is also used on humans for cataracts !!!! You Rock Doc

    In my experience, using a ceiling fan at night exacerbated my sweet Yorkie Gidget's dry eyes. She slept with her eyes slightly open a tiny bit so I started giving her lubricating eye drops just before bedtime and using a cool mist vaporizer next to her bed. What a difference! RIP, Little Gidget 💙💝💙 (10-12-21)
    Last month I rescued another little guy, this time from a pound way out in West Texas. I took him from there straight to a groomer. He stunk, his bones were sticking out from malnourishment & his eyes were all crusty. (Turned out his lower jaw was broken, too… Sadness 😞)
    The next day a vet did the 1-minute dry eye test on Cowboy & it showed basically zero tear production.
    * I COULD HAVE FILLED UP MY SUV GAS TANK TWICE FOR WHAT THEY CHARGED ME FOR ONE TEENY TINY TUBE OF OPTIMMUNE!!! And they said he will need it the rest of his life?!
    Guess who's getting castor oil and CBD from now on?

  21. I saved my 12 year old shit sues eyes with Castrol oil. And this is after the vet prescription meds made her eyes so bad he then said he had to remove them. I use castor oil in my eye for dry. I also use colloidal silver brand-name sovereign silver whenever my dog gets an infection in her eye. One drop. My Shih Tzu Eye was severely infected and ulcerated and the vet wanted to remove it..I said NO..I read up and learned …I used I drop colloidal silver followed 10 mins later by 1 drop of castor oil 3 times a day..I made a sling like vest for her to keep her from digging at her eye and gave her CBD oil for pain.. took 5 wks but her eye looked perfect 👍. She is prone to dry eye and rubbing her eyes which causes ulcers..now I use castor oil 1 drop morning and night always…
