Increase the demand for the lionfish, if very profitable, should become commercialized and offer lionfish dishes in chain seafood restaurants (i.e. Red Lobster, Long John Silvers, Captain D's, etc.). Have lionfish fillet's offered in Grocery Store Chains and other processed food companies (Mrs Paul's, Gorton's, etc.) turn them into beer battered fillets and fish sticks) Increase widespread consumption to increase demand, increase fishing for profit, that will make huge impacts to the numbers of this kind of fish…
It's one of the most beautiful fish in the oceans and it's being exterminated because they are on top of the food chain, so are sharks, orcas, whales and humans. They are being killed because they affect population of native fish? so there are more native fish for humans to kill. That's the only reason! Because they are killing what we want to kill. Humans are imbeciles. That's why there is so much hate coming out of people's mouth when they talk about lionfish. If you want to catch it and eat it like you would do with any other fish, that's fine, but don't hate it. We humans are the biggest threat to all animals on the planet, but that's ok., i guess.
Is it possible to introduce controlling predators that eat the lionfish, but are more sedentary and reproduce and spread at a slower rate, such as the alligator fish? These predators keep lion-fish populations in control in their original natural habitat.
If you're cooking the fish with the spine and the venom in it onto worried you are in going to end up with poison in your oil and affecting the taste. I would remove the Spines with the Venom…
I am not a fan of seafood, but that fish looks appetizing af
Lionfish belong in the indo pacific, aquariums, and after this video my plate 🍽

Ban eating reef fish except lionfish
Lionfish: No. You're not supposed to eat me. I'm venomous and dangerous.
Humans: Haha… Spear goes swoosh. Now you're food.
I don't get it though. How are they such voracious predators? They seem to be sluggish and incapable of moving quickly enough to catch prey.
Lionfish is the best eating fish I’ve ever had
In japan we use pliers to cut spikes.
I hate any kind of fish and always have, but I gotta say that fried lionfish and rice looked amazing enough to try.
Ahh, I love when invasive species are fun to kill and taste good
The dish would look more appetizing if they trimmed the fins, especially the pectoral ones.
If you don’t like lion fish meat, then you don’t actually like or appreciate fish
Just spread the word that LionFish are good for sex to Koreans. The lion fish will go extinct! 🙂 I am Korean 🙂
I will eat any fish as long as it has been deboned.

like any other fish, this creature per 100g has a protein of 18g. chow!

Well, at least it's better than eating bugs, and it saves the environment.
We remove the spine before fried it
Look at how we are the apex species
I wish I liked the taste of fish, it looks good to the eye but I can't get past the strong taste.

We should develop small underwater drones to kill these lionfish in a efficient manner.
She took the skin off! The skin is the best part!
The only time overfishing is encouraged.
I love fish, Ill eat them no problem. Just never had a chance…. mmm makes me hungry.
Lion fish is very mild, flakey, white and DEE-licious! I was lucky to try it. They taste like snapper.
The day eating lion fish becomes trendy or luxurious the problem is going to be over in less than 3 years
The pros at some other reefs have this 3-pronged spear and a "bag" to harvest multiple lionfish in one go. Very satisfying videos on youtube!

why don't they take a pair of sissors and cut the poisenious top fins off before they cook it? Seems like that would be safer in handling it.

mmmm that looks delicious!
Very nice…fry fish..
We really lucked out that lion fish taste so good. Can you imagine if they didn’t taste good or were inedible? The lionfish would win.

For every Lionfish you eat/kill you also save 20-50+ native fish from getting eaten 🙂
I never try Lionfish, BUT Iam sure it’s very tasty fish
Somebody get me to the ocean, give me a spear, some flippers, and feed me some food, and ill remove thousands
I'm vegetarian but I would eat lionfish because there's no environmental or ethical issue around doing so, it's even a good thing
