I started feeding the doves in my back yard and have become a big fan of them. They've gotten to a point now where they aren't even afraid of me and will be sitting there in the morning waiting for me to toss out some seeds for them and will walk up pretty close to me

Reminds me of my favorite song from Mary Poppins, "Feed the Birds". We get lots of wild birds, squirrels & raccoons around here (Colorado). Some of the larger birds, & the other animals know me well enough to recognize my voice & feed from my hands 🥰🥰🥰 It's so heart warming!

The string thing could be from people leaving strings from their clothing or other things on the ground, or it could also be them building nests with strings & other material. It could also be trash & a lot of things too. Humans trash the earth & it's sad & our animals have been affected. Pigeons are highly misunderstood.
