Koi Delta-8 THC Strawberry Gummies Review

Koi Delta-8 THC Strawberry Gummies Review
Discover CBD

Gummies are quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of Delta-8 THC that allow the user to enjoy a legal and “lite” high. The soft and chewy texture paired with a familiar fruit flavor almost makes you forget you’re consuming a hemp product! Aside from being enjoyable and tasty, Delta-8 THC gummies are often packed with high quantities of the cannabinoid that allow you to enjoy a powerful mind and body high in as little as an hour. Today, we’ll be reviewing Delta-8 THC Gummies from Koi CBD, a leading brand in the industry that puts their focus on quality and overall mental wellness. Let’s check out the review and see what makes this particular form of Delta-8 THC so popular.

Koi started off as a CBD company that recently incorporated Delta-8 THC products into their catalog. Their Delta-8 THC gummies come in a wide variety of flavors: lime, mango, watermelon, blue razz, and strawberry, which is the flavor we’ll be reviewing in this article. Each gummy contains 25mg of Delta-8 THC, and can be purchased on their website in either a 6-piece bag for $13.99 or a 20-piece container for $39.99. Koi offers a 10% for a monthly subscription service, a small thanks for their repeat customers. The gummies are made with Delta-8 THC isolate instead of the dominant sativa or indica strains.

The small gummies were about the size of a sugar cube and were coated in white sugar crystals. According to the label, a single cube contains 25mg of Delta-8 THC, so it’s best to start out with one (or even a half) gummy when trying it for the first time. Be careful not to ingest too much Delta-8 THC, as you may feel lethargic and sleepy if too much is consumed in one sitting. Now that we’ve gone over the product’s appearance, let’s check out the product’s taste and effects leading up to the actual high.

Product Review

After I’d finished checking out the gummy’s overall appearance, it was time to see how the gummies tasted, as well as to see the effects of the gummy. I held the bottle to my nose and detected a strong strawberry scent with a nearly imperceptible hemp scent. I popped one in my mouth and noticed the texture was very firm. It wasn’t the soft and chewy texture that I was used to from other brands, but more of a hard chewy candy. The taste had a very strong artificial flavor and scent, and I didn’t taste the hemp until a few seconds later. The hemp flavor was very strong and lingered for a few seconds, and I instantly disliked the strong hemp aftertaste. I also noticed there was a slight slimy coating on my tongue and teeth. My mouth felt hot but not dry, which was a curious sensation, but a quick swig of water rectified both issues promptly. I wasn’t fond of the artificial flavor or the bitter aftertaste, but I was curious how the Delta-8 THC high would be due to the strength of the hemp flavor. I noted that the time was 9:30 and I proceeded to occupy my time with other tasks.

It took about an hour before I felt the effects start to kick in. I noticed that my eyelids felt heavy and I felt myself squinting to keep my eyes open. There was a tingling in my jaw, as well as some slight pressure (not unpleasant or uncomfortable) in both my jaw and sinuses. I felt a pleasant tingling sensation in my hands and feet, which also increased their sensitivity. I checked my eyes a few times, and noticed a very light redness, though I wouldn’t call them “rabbit eyes.” Time seemed to slow down and five minutes felt like half an hour. Around 11:30 I noticed I had a slight slurring of speech, random raspiness in my voice, and faintly blurred vision. I was relaxed enough to fall into a deep and refreshing sleep.

I will say that I felt slightly buzzed when waking up in the morning, which was surprising since I usually wake up without any remaining effects from the Delta-8 THC. That buzzed feeling faded throughout my morning and was an amusing reminder of my previous use of the gummies. My only complaint was that towards the end of the high, I got extremely cotton-mouthed. If you try this product, make sure to have a bottle of water handy! Other than these side effects, the high was beautiful and euphoric. I felt uplifted and clear-headed, and would definitely try these gummies again, as the mind and body high was powerful yet relaxing.

These gummies are very strong, so I’d recommend these to a more intermediate level Delta-8 THC user, as I felt some paranoia wanting to set in, but thanks to the clear-headedness, I was able to quell the anxious feelings. I realize that Delta-8 THC affects everyone differently, so be sure to start off with at least half a gummy if trying this product for the first time. Your Delta-8 THC experience will vary based on your experience with THC, as well as your height, weight, age, and other factors. Remember to never operate machinery and vehicles while under the influence of Delta-8 THC products. You may experience drowsiness or lethargy (which will affect your reaction time), so it may be best to avoid Delta-8 THC products while working. If trying Delta-8 THC for the first time, always consult your primary physician before incorporating any Delta-8 THC products into your daily routine.

Lab Testing

Koi CBD offers independent third-party lab testing on every single one of their products. You can review these tests by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking on the Lab Results tab. You’ll be redirected to a page that has several drop-down menus for their products, including gummies, vape bars, and vape cartridges. You can click the particular product you’re searching for (i.e., 500mg strawberry) to view a quick blurb or you can select the COA tab to review the complete scientific findings. The organization that went into creating this section of the website is impeccable and shows that Koi is dedicated to professionalism and ease-of-use for the consumer.

Hemp Information

Koi’s CBD products are sourced by hemp extract from strictly validated vendors, ensuring full traceability from plant to product. Products are infused with hemp that is both grown and extracted in the United States, and utilizes the entire plant rather than just the important parts. Their products are high quality and professionally marketed, allowing Koi to remain one of the best-selling brands in the industry. Each of their products are fully compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill (meaning they contain less than 0.3% THC), allowing them to sold to nearly every state in the U.S.

Product Packaging

I received a 20-pack of the strawberry gummies and was instantly impressed by the thoughtful design of the black plastic container. Unlike a simple twist off or tear strip, the childproof container was somewhat difficult to open, as it required the right combination of twisting and pushing down on the lid. I was able to open it after a few tries, but it’s the first packaging in a long time that’s ever given me trouble to open.

The front of the label was crisp and professional, with a red background fading into black. The company name Koi was listed dead-center, with a playful koi fish leaping across the words. A large red sticker on the top left of the label stated that there was 500mg of Delta-8 THC per container.

On the rear of the label, the ingredients were listed, as well as the serving size (1 gummy): Sugar, corn syrup, pectin, sunflower oil, water, flavorin, sodium citrate, sodium acid sulfate, citric acid, natural and artificial food coloring, 25mg hemp-derived Delta-8 THC and plant-derived terpenes. There was a suggested use and storage recommendation, as well as warning who should not use this product. The manufacturer’s information was listed on the lower left half, alongside a disclaimer of how the product has not been evaluated by the FDA and should be treated as such. There were large stamps on the right side of the label showing that the hemp in the product is grown and extracted in the USA, and has been third-party lab tested. A barcode and QR code are displayed for easy rerouting to the company website, and a small text block states that the product contains less than 0.3% THC. There was no expiration date listed, but most gummies have a 1-year expiration date from production. While there was no direct listing of how long the wait time for the gummies to kick in, the suggested use directed consumers to take one every six hours, so that would be a ballpark of how long the effect of these gummies lasts.

Koi CBD is best known for their wide variety of CBD products, but they’ve also incorporated Delta-8 THC gummies in recent months. Their CBD products include tinctures and shots, balms and topicals, gummies and softgels, CBD for pets, hemp flowers, inhalers, skincare, bath and body products, and CBD for sleep. Their Delta-8 THC products are limited to just gummies for now, but their lab testing showed previous results for cartridges and inhalers, so perhaps we’ll see those again in the future. The website was a joy to browse, as everything was clearly labeled, categorized, and easy to navigate. Their descriptions were informative and well-written, each product had multiple reviews, and there was a rewards program for loyal customers. While the site is more CBD-centric, their Delta-8 THC gummies were powerful and much-enjoyed. I can honestly recommend their Delta-8 THC gummies for anyone wanting to experience a powerful mind and body high, all with complete mental clarity and focus.
