We have been feeding earthborn holistic to our dog for years thinking it was one of the best foods out here, Thank you for letting us know what greedy bastards this company is we switched to Canidae after reading they haven't had a recall since 20012 i hope this company is honest time will tell.

  9. I did have some of the contaminated cat food. Sportmix. I sent a picture of the exp.date and lot number. Threw out what I had and I had it mixed with other dry food in sealable containers. Had to throw it all out. After several emails they agreed to send me a coupon I would have to use at a store I cannot get to. I did purchase mine from Amazon

  10. I'm lost on what to feed my Dog any longer. I've avoided cooking for him or going raw as I live in a small tiny house and like to keep things simple. But now I may just have to figure it out. Very disapointed. I've fed Sportmix Wholesomes for years and they bragged about "no recalls ever" for a long time. Yeah, until they started killing Dogs w/ their food. They should face criminal charges.

  14. This makes me really debate making my cats food from scratch. Sadly I have a hard time getting my little boy Thor to eat anything that's not Sheba wet food. Literally have spent so much money trying to find things he will eat (which is two brands of dry food and only Sheba perfect portions wet food)

  15. I wish i knew more about dog foods long ago. I alway did try to do my search and try to give my 5 dogs the best i could. Now i have one left and she needed to go on prescription food. I sure did my search. Now she only eats human graded natural food. Thank you doc for ur great info.

  16. Dr. Jones, What is your opinion on why this huge rise in pet food contaminations and just plain old unhealthy awful pet foods are even on the market? I would love to hear that from you. It all sickens me. Let us know what you think. Thanks for being the greatest natural health Vet (or any vet for that matter IMO) for pets. I only turn to you for information on how to treat my pets at home natural and affordably. You're the best!!! 💖💖💖

  17. Notice most of these are off brands. I'm surprised to see Special Kitty is owned by Smuckers. They're bad news anyway. Some years back, they knowingly sold contaminated food that caused kidney failure / death in many cats.

  25. We lost a dog from the melamine contamination many years ago. Our second dog developed a heart condition as well but we were able to reverse it. Since then, our dogs have been eating lean meats with a bit of pureed vegetables and a bit of carbs.
    Our 13 year old dog has recently began to play again. People have a hard time believing me when I tell them his age.

  33. I give my PomChi and my Pom raw food from Pet Carnivore . It's fresh and frozen and the dogs love it! It's 80% meat, 10% bone and 10% organ mix. Along with tripe and small bit of smelt. Very healthy dogs they are. I will never buy commercial pellets.

  34. Cats and dogs are natural CARNIVORES, that means Raw, Fresh Meat including the organs where they get all of the other necessary nutrients.
    Does any human out there know what that means any more ! ?

  41. If you take it back to where you bought it, they usually refund your money for a recall. You can also sign up for usda alerts for recalls.
    The bad think is they keep letting these companies make pet foods after several recalls patterns.

  47. My cat is addicted to dry food , I,ve stood on my head to make him home made, even raw food tried slowly to wean him off, he ll have none of that and rather starve himself. I feed him” Essence and Orijen” tried many Supplements , Powders.nothing has worked. Tried for over a year, ( any Cat food on the Market was tried.)
    Any tips??
