I did not understand the desire for dry crunchy carbs at the end of the day in Philly. It's a whole town full of weirdos with weird habits. Pretzels suck. Philly sucks too. It's hard to tell which sucks worse, they both suck so bad.

So for years, in fact decades, i would buy 5 bags containing 4 or 5 pretzles for $1.00/bag at the bottom of the off ramps of I-95 in Philly. Other spots too. Grant and Roosevelt Blvd and along the Blvd were a few sellers. Also by the Tacony-Palmyra Br. Haven't been that way for a while. Were you the source of all those bag vendors?

The PA general store ships these out as Philly Soft Pretzels but they are DIFFERENT from the regional Philly pretzel franchisees. If anyone wants these exact pretzels or pretzels close to them, The PA general store is the way to go. I believe they have less flavor than the franchised Philly soft pretzels. You get a dense, chewier product as a result. Just my own personal preference, I love a darker, almost burned flavor.
THE WAY TO GO is fresh. If you're close to Philly, you owe it to yourself. A philly soft pretzel is as iconic and I would argue more important to the typical life of a regional citizen than a cheesesteak.
They've recently closed due to a fire. Philadelphians, we needs this institution back! Please support their gofundme.
