  1. Yes Definitely!!! Animals have souls, feelings & minds too & they protect us, some even protect people that aren't worth protecting (I see it every day💔)so they count very much in my book💜& should have always counted. It's sad & sick that it's 2023 & they aren't protected near enough 💔💔💔

  2. I hear what you are saying Doc but if push came to shove and my man tried to take my baby girl(12.5 yo female Maine coon) off of me I swear to god I would end his life where stood. We have two cats but animals choose their person. The Russian blue female loves him more than me and the MC loves me more than both of them. If we parted ways it would be a cat each and as described. NO QUESTION. He can fight me for the house or the car but don't even think about going after my baby girl. I would do time for her. She is the love of my life. I am a vets nightmare "pet parent" and I'm not ashamed to let them know. Looks like a cat, sounds like a cat, smells like a cat but she is my little girl… accidentally kill her under anesthesia and I will not be accountable for my actions. Hand her back BETTER than you got her… Simple as…

  3. I absolutely agree; these innocent, sentient beings have an inherent right to legal recognition. They should definitely be automatically assigned to the pet parent to whom they are most deeply attached.

If I travel from the bush into town in order to obtain essential supplies, my dogs become terribly distressed and it is upsetting for me to see every time, but dogs are not allowed into the store, so obviously they must wait at home.

Imagine how traumatic it would be for a dog if a couple were to indefinitely separate, and the poor creature would see his/her most favored and dearly loved, pet parent, walk away for the last. These creatures never forget; and some will spend the rest of their lives always watching and waiting for that person to one day return; this is absolutely tragic.

It is great to hear that people are calling for changes in the current laws for dogs and cats.

  4. Dogs to me are like an extension to my family, like children, whoever is there for them most of the time, and cares for them in every way should be the one to take them on full time.
Iv only had a dog now because I’m in the position to be there for her most of the time.😁👍

  5. This is so true. I have always considered Canada to be one of the most civilized countries. PLEASE fix this! From my perspective in Africa, I am hoping that this change has to start somewhere. 🙏😍
