  1. Very well said against the end! "People who are given opportunities tend to not become addicts or criminals"
I lived in Colombia for almost a year and my friends were constantly complaining about the government and how their corruption fuels poverty. If the greed of Colombias politicians was effectively viewed as a problem, much less people would suffer.

  2. Negative side effects like anxiety or negative behaviors holding in air often found in lower quality chemicals will add to the anxiety, the anxiety will make the high feel like more than what it is and keep the addict coming back for a experience of misery.

  3. Jeez these cartels have such a messed up mindset to have no sympathy or remorse for what they’re doing to their own community. They probably have families themselves and to basically setup their children’s generation for failure with the drug epidemic they’re creating is heartbreaking. Then they blame the drug crisis on the government and society when it’s their wrong doing of ruining the community, money hungry idiots with a bag of karma waiting for them 🤦🏽‍♂️

  4. come on vice wtf so many ads, love your channel, respect and admire your journalism which is actually lacking a lot of factual discussion but still, but then these ads are changing love to agony to low subscribers, please have a look

  5. y'all know damn well why you contact/dry snitch was killed the day before your meeting! even if they still allowed you to come he was killed because being your contact, or even the willingness to be your contact is to much like snitching and says he prolly couldn't be trusted.

  6. It's pretty amazing how readily Vice reporters are to believe everything. Honestly, thinking someone has their gun blessed by Jesus to protect them while they commit crimes? It doesn't take a genius to realize these people are playing the reporters for the fools they are.

  7. Yeah … so let’s pray and bless
This gun to go do battle and harm someone else just not them. I could be wrong but I don’t believe this is how prayer actually works. There’s more I can say and want to say just don’t feel it’d have any benefit with this crew 🤦‍♀️

  8. This is the type of journalism I love to see from vice. As an addict in recovery, I like to think I am pretty knowledgeable about everything that is out there and I had no idea what this was or that this was a thing and vice taught me something new, Tragic of course, but I'm now more informed than I was before so thank you for the top notch reporting vice.

  9. VICE please stop going woke, this is much better neutral reporting. Some of your reporters push their own agendas and its obvious you will turn into another blockbuster video story if you continue with your personal agendas

  10. It is so sad to blame drug X.
These people would have NEVER made it to the moon or become the next nobel prize winner. Quote: "Poor and weak people do die" ~Mother Nature.

  11. Jenny and Julian are so sweet. I really hope they stay safe. The NGO [Accion Tecnica Social] is inspiring and I'm super impressed with the cleaner, alternative pipe. Julian is amazing. Same for the reporter. The entire documentary is one of the best I've seen from Vice. I just wish we didn't have a need for them. My heart goes out to everyone, RIP unnamed contact. :/

  12. I'm 40 n live in Detroit Michigan. 21 years of heroin and fentynl addiction. Before that was crack cocaine and alcohol since age 13. Trauma is what causes addiction. More often than not its sexual abuse from early ages. Much love to anybody struggling just keep trying to quit one day it'll stick for us hopefully.

  13. Free chemistry lesson

Cocaine in its natural form aka coca paste is a free base and is not water soluble. It gets converted to cocaine hydrochloride. This hydrochloride is water soluble, so you can sniff it.
Crack generally is pure because its made from purified cocaine hydrochloride. Raw coca paste itself is the same thing as crack. it starts as freebase, gets turned to hydrochloride wich purifies it, then turned back into a base to have a more pure freebase. long story short, basuco IS crack. raw coca paste IS lower purity crack. basuco is made from raw coca paste and they add chalk and benzoic acid. benzoic acid is added to nicotine to enhance its uptake efficiency, it does the same thing to cocaine. cocaine hydrochloride that you can sniff, has a boiling point that is WAY hotter than the freebase version, this is why crack is smokeable and cocaine powder doesn't really smoke well. the kerosine is leftover from extraction because remember, cocaine in its raw form is a non polar lipid freebase that requires non polar solvents to extract. if the cocaine were legal, it would be extracted with butane like most cannabis extracts are instead of gasoline and diesel fuel and instead of bricks and chalk being added for filler, it would be clean and safe to consume. The war on drugs is NOT about the drugs.
