  1. low-carbs for elite runners, makes no sense, you need carbs for fuel especially at the elite athlete level and wish people would stop conflating 'carbs' with processed foods only – carbs are a macro-nutrient everything has carbs, protein and fat – that's nutrition 101. she should optimize Whole Foods carbs from whole-grains, legumes, veggies and fruits and small amount of nuts and seeds (they also happen to come with tons of antioxidants, phytonutrients, vitamins & minerals), her body will recover quicker and she won't have chronic inflammation by consuming animal & processed foods
